Last year there were a of broken Jamis FR/DH bikes - lots of failures in the CS. That said, they'll warranty and help you out with pretty much anything that goes wrong, so you'll never be SOL if something goes wrong with them. They've got great CS, that looks like a pretty solid package, looks pretty good to me.

Yes, but what about kinematics? I still think it looks cheap if you look past the super nice components and for me the frame is the last place I want to save. It seems like Jamis is trying to improve I just think they could do better than that.

That downtube looks crappy. Suspension design looks to be mediocre. Cost is right though. I can get one cost for 2900$.
Both the downtube and the top tube look a bit strange but that doesn't mean anything. Still for 2900$ it's a great deal.

BTW. What's the MSRP?

Delete this post please. Don't disclose dealer costs and employee discounts in public forums.

On another note, I may be riding this bike next year. I work at a Jamis dealer, and although the Dakar chainstays seem to snap pretty frequently, the price and spec of this bike are pretty spot-on.

Well guys thanks for the feedback.
We have been riding and testing this BAM for over 9 months, so it has been at our office for a long time with many riders coming in testing the new design. As mentioned George Ryan has been riding a new version giving feedback and helping tweek the geo a bit. We also have test riders in Colorado, Whistler and Santa Cruz. The chainstays and yoke have been redesigned and strengthened. The bike is super stiff, responsive and pedals great, don't knock stuff before you try it guys..... As mentioned these bikes will be available for rentals at Diablo Freeride Park.
The downtube is shaped the way it is so we can get the proper eye to eye for the shock in the frame, while keeping the geo where we wanted it and to keep the frame as compact as possible. Doing that results in a stiffer, stronger better handling frame.
Thanks for the feedbac.

The stem is an e.13 Ali direct mount stem. does anyone know if it is different from the boxxer e.13 ali or are they the same thing? you can just use the e.13 ali for a fox 40?

what's up with the goofy Dakar name anyways? Jamis seems to slap that on every single full suspension bike they have except for the parker...
