Looks sweet, I'll revert some pics of mine to this thread as well when I get home.

I think video is a good thing to add to get the true feel of what is going on, post up when you get some!

I have to shovel mine off as well, I got a load of white poop all over it, but being 20 some degrees makes it nice and fast to ride when its cleared.

Looking at your your pics SDG and T1's vid and Zach's neighbors I think these setups should be called flow tracks instead of pump tracks. I think a pump track is more along the lines of a big circular loop vs. the multiple lines that you guys have setup.

Here is the Open to the Public pump track at the Yukon BMX raceway in Yukon, Oklahoma. This picture was taken the day it was built, since then it has been improved/grooved in.

I think a pumptrack can take on any form, as long as its nature is to pump through the obstacles and not pedal (using rollers and jumps to generate speed). Just my opinion.

Here is my video link http://www.vimeo.com/2331659

and a pic

I agree with T1. I think it benefits everyone to not let the term "pump track" get defined too narrowly.

I think there ought to be more pump tracks with jumps. Does anyone remember the name of that DC shoes event? It was one-on-one bmx racing, but on a pump-track-style course. People were taking their chains off and racing.

maybe its not shown on the pics, but my pumptrack is made out of 2 loops. It contains 2 table jumps, 1 small and 1 bigger stepup like feature. Also you can jump some rollers when your up to speed.

I will work on some video shots the coming weeks, sadly i dont have it yet..

That was in Randy Stumpfhauser's backyard. The event/race was called DC Sprint Trails Race.

i dont get it what a waste of time and good dirt. a pump track is retarded unless its in an area so small that thats all you can build. your telling me that guy in the field with the truck couldnt have built dirt jumps? i dont get it wtf
+1. i would have rather have dirt jumps.

Pump tracks are better for dialing in your flow or getting used to speed. Dirt jumps are like sprint, walk up the hill, sprint, walk up the hill, but a good pumptrack you can session for like 10 or 15 minutes before you start to get tired, and really build up some speed. Plus I just like to rail berms, its fun. :monkeydance:

IMO, not that it matters, but a good set of trails will have the qualities of both. Many people can build up their skills and get comfortable riding pumptracks, learning to pump tranny, etc. Other guys will never get beyond the small stuff, comfortable just cruising and not taking on the risk of bigger jumps. Personally, and I'm sure the feeling is shared by many on here, the feel of "flying", floating through the air, is what makes me crave Jumps over "pumps". They both have their place, and I will continue to enjoy riding both. For backyards, most of us probably don't have lots of space so there is only one clear option. If you have a big open field, do what suits your fancy. Riding is riding.
