I lowered the price and added some extra zazzyness to the sale...

1999.5 Audi A4 Avant 1.8T Quattro 5-Speed

Mileage: 117,000
Engine: 4-Cyl. 1.8L Turbo
Transmission: 5 Speed Manual
Drivetrain: Quattro AWD

31mpg highway / 22mpg city

Did the 100k service 18k ago. (Timing belt, spark plugs, filter refresh, oil, full coolant flush, new water pump, new thermostat, etc). Smogged and Registered until November 2009. Oil/filter changed 01/09/09

Standard-
Air Conditioning
Tilt Wheel
Dual Front Air Bags
Power Steering
Cruise Control
ABS (4-Wheel)
Power Windows
AM/FM Stereo
Roof Rack

Optional-
Black Leather interior
MP3 (Single CD player)
Moon Roof
Premium Wheels 19x8.5
Cold Weather package (heated seats, headlight sprayers, etc)

Mods-
-K&N Filter
-TT Cat back exhaust with Borla Muffler
-Biltein Sport shocks with Neuspeed race springs
-Short shift kit
-Steel Braded brake lines
-Cross driller/slotted rotors front and rear
-19x8.5 BBS LM Replicas
-Rolled front fenders
-Turbo timer
-New South Turbo gauge
-Thule rack with 1 bike carrier
-Sparcco pedals
-Hyperboost DV
-Upgraded to HIDs
-Pioneer mp3/cd player with hidden Ipod hook up
-Hardwired radar detector
-APR Snub mount

Issues:
-Automatic door locks (Central locking pump) not working
-ABS Module needs rebuild (ABS/E-Brake light on)
-Gas gauge acts funny around 1/3 tank (Jumps up and down)

Would also consider trading for a MK1-MK4 GTI or Golf + cash. Would also consider a Corrado VR6 + cash.

Looking for $9,500

Ahh the joys of German controls and instruments.

My bimmer likes to do **** like this too.

In my car it seems like the engineers just didn't account for the breakdown of plastics over time so things start to disintegrate.

ouch... although i was just looking at 01 S4s for a little over 10k... with under 100k miles. damn economy and damn german cars. we all should just buy Tacomas. Except that a 2000 used Tacoma with no options and over 100k miles is still 15k!!!! wtf?! I could buy 3 Audis during that time...

It is a 1999.5. Has a mixture of 1999 parts and 2000 parts. The Avant also has most of the S-Line stuff on it including the steering wheel and whatnot. Strong and reliable. This bad boy rules for Downieville. =]

Haha... why the fascination with unreliable vehicles though?

After having my fun cars, Unreliable 1964 VW Beetle, 1999.4 Mk4 Jetta, 1994 Porsche 968), I'm happy to say my Toyota Tundra with 46,500 miles on it hasn't had a problem yet.

:-)

P.S. I like the Scions. :happydance:

Hey hey ,now u cant put the bug in the same class as the other junkers you mentioned. In my experience with bugs or any old car for that matter its the owners lack of restoring and or upkeep that causes problems, not the 30 year old car.And yea from my 10 years as as a mechanic get a toy since its ubber reliable and so u can haul ur bike .

nice car... i've got a 98 1.8T non-quattro that i still love to death. Just finished replacing the head after driving through a huge puddle, now gotta do the clutch... also had to replace that ABS unit you're speaking of.

Ebay does repairs for $199 shipped, or you can pull it apart and try and fix it yourself. I tried this and pulled 3 wires before i even knew i did... make sure you work with a flashlight and magnifying glass. The cables are INSANELY tiny, 1/10th a human hair or so. I think it'll add more to the resale than the cost of the fix... and it's part of the traction control system too, at least in the fwd version.

Yeah, as soon as I get my car sold I will lock down what I am looking for. I know VW's and Audi's pretty well so I might stick to them.

Car is still for sale ASKING $10,500/obo seriously, or best offer. =]

Dude, if I could find a buyer for my car I would be all over getting your golf. We should meet up so I can check it out in person more in depth.

What do you have? And don't you live really far away?

Mike, gym tonight. Beer has been brewed. =] No ride. Ride tomorrow am.
Oh, I've got a super sweet 2004 Mazda3 GT. With winter tires/wheels, roof rack. Oooooooooooohhhhhh baby.

And you could drop off the Audi on your way to Whistler. Easy!

If you find me a job (im 16) i will buy your car! All I need is a job and my parents said I can get a a car. I want an audi so bad:banghead:
Get a job anywhere man! haha at your age it should be fairly easy...

Seriously, bag boy at safeway or something is always a good start. I started working at a local arcade when I was 14. From there went onto working at the UPS store, then Blockbuster for my high school jobs. Places like that are always looking for young kids they can pay minimum wage to.
