Doh!! We were going to do 1 one of those at the 'Nade... Skooks brought us the roller thingy and everything... but we just couldn't figure out a way to keep the moon dust from clogging everything up.

That roller thing survived being speared into a trash container from 60 feet off the Pacific Science Center roof, but couldn't handle the dust...

Out of all the quirky things we thought of making, i still think it would have been funny for me to build a pond over the beginner log ride. Submit making a splash puns here. But yah, good that i was talked down from that idea...

When doing my trail build update thread, it was stated that alot of the stuff on the trail were similar to Rays. i knew about Rays but never stopped to look at videos or pictures to borrow any ideas. Didn't have to, really.

So there is a bit of similarities. But the cool difference about Rays and the Nade is that it's volunteer powered, and it's free of charge to the rider. It's like comparing HBO to PBS only our PBS doesn't suck.

There's a way to make a feature like that work. I am thinking of skateboard trucks/wheels in a metal frame/track and some kind of spring for the return device...

If at Colonnade you would have to somehow fabricate the rolling mechanism to always be encapsulated, to protect it from dust. Probably working uphill on it though, any type of mechanized moving ttf's are a hassle on maintenance, city and Evergreen never too enthused.

It's unfortunate, but most all people will look at it like it's something that can be aced, then it's no big deal. Which in some ways is true, but i always like to see variety and creativity.
