Awesome, still working on my kit so when I see some nice pics I have to ask :-)
Dude now's the best time to buy a canon 40D, since they released the 50D and the 5DMKII the 40D's went down alot, you can get a 40D kit for half what i paid for it... i paid 1400 with the 28-135KIT lens (which i sold)

If you have any Camera/photo questions please feel free to ask.... I'm in no way an Expert, but i think i know my way around the camera a bit....

its a public spot at the top of manhattan and you can't explain to the kids who ride it that it is better to leave it alone when it is that wet. Especially the week you expect a freeze :banghead:
What is worse is spending a few hours getting it sweet so it freezes smooth then watching the 20 kids waiting for you to leave so they can tear it up and put you back where you started.
Oh well, it's better than nothing and has created a good vibe. Education is the next step.

Where are these jumps exactly?
I'm moving my Manhattan next fall for school, so I'm kind of curious. I'll be living in Soho, if that makes a difference...

its dangerous, very very dangerous. if i was you i wouldnt go.
Is that why you're never there, wuss? :monkeydance:

Highbridge is at the northern tip of Manhattan, 1 Train to Dyckman St will take you right to it. Nothing to fear there, there is almost always people out riding.

Nice pics. Looks fun. I guess if it's your spot and ya'll dig it's forgiveable but if I showed up at our spot, I'd have a cow (and regularly do) if someone left them rutted up like that.
I accept all responsibility for the way that landing looks. It looked nice when the crew and I resahped it three times but in the winter it is too hard to dig.

lips are like concrete, landings covered in a solid inch of slime since they all face the sun.
tried to fix the landing of the 3rd jump today, no riding they were way to wet.

looks like we have been bamboozled by mother nature yet again, now they are only expecting a "few" snow showers...

i think the jumps at HB need to be frozen solid (no 32+ degree sunlight on the landings) or else they will be mush due to the water in the dirt, for the foreseeable future. All the landings/decks/sides are essentially frozen mud at this point in time, so as soon as the surface starts to thaw it's a mess.

A high of 25 degrees or lower is a ballpark requirement, I am figuring.

We need a nice Juneuary to kick in soon and dry that shiz out.

I know people will ride anyway and trash 'em, but that's what us diggers are for.
