My 303 is lighter than that.
And for a short travel trail bike?
Sorry, no jealousy here either.

My V-10 weighs less than that!
If you don't care 'bout weight, cool. If you do... think about trying some different tires, rims, pedals, & cranks.
Looks like a super fun bike!!

That does seem a bit heavy for what it is.

Looks good, but I think I'd buy a Demo.

Yeah I am back in Slocal in march! Tired of the snow and the cold, damn knees hurt and living on Ibuprofen is getting real old!
You guys have to come down and ride the bike park soon, Bob the builder (brodie rep Bob!) came down a few weeks ago and we rode ussery as well as the park! Some good lofting jumps there!

I might be up there in a few weeks I have to talk to scott about some stuff and heard you guys have a trail on bryden! Im going to poach it!!!!!!!!

See the park is rideable in a few inches of snow! :thumb: Im still working on these and no footed seat grabs! Want a superman seat grab by summer!

Definitely does seem on the heavier side for what it is. I think the bike looks sweet, but I would work on some weight savings in the future.

My Sunday weights less than that.

Damn, that thing is sexy (even at 40 pounds). I think I'd take the weight penalty of that bike for the ability to have an uninterrupted seat tube.

Now Trek just needs to make an SX-type bike using the Remedy frame and this conversation will be over...

BTW did you weigh the frame before building it up?

Thanks, JT
10.89 pounds with seatpost and shock....about a half pound heavier than my old large. but this frame looks twice as beefy everywhere compared to my old one....

I thought this was the DH forum ...doesnt look like a DH bike to me, sorry Im REALLY not jealous.

How short is that SHOCK!?!?! Wow leverage/ratio!:bonk:

How can Specialized come up with a 7" travel bike that has such a small shock( one would think they would save a ton of weight ) and still weights just as much( if not more) than a proper DH bike ... in 2009?

Boy I really hope Sam and Brendan are going to help them getting back on track cause right now...I dont see what market they're aiming at.Im no slopestyler but the SX looks like TOO much to me, the Bighit is one of the WORST looking bike ever made and the Demo ,well sorry Ive owned 4 of them and its simply not a serious contender in the DH game anymore.

Hec even Trek is kicking their ass with their cross country bikes and is pretty much on par with their road bikes...A demo 8 frame retails for more than a Session 88 frame right now, though choice...:disgust:

So, you've still got to remove the brake line from the lever, then re-isstall and bleed? Doesn't seem worth it to me. Just my $0.02.
i took it off from the caliper. it is super simple with the goodridge lines. shimano brakes are a cinch to bleed anyways.

if its so bad why would you own four of them before you figured it out?

ditto.

another overpriced Specialized Hurst link frame, I fail to see why I should be jealous.

Granted, the fact that it doesn't require a 24 inch rear wheel and that the frame design allows for a shrader valve for the shock makes it a nice departure from the past Specialized quirks. but jealous? I'll pass.

P.S., this day and age the OP doesn't even bother use photobucket and we have to go to pinkbike to view the photos....truck loads of fail.

How many of you meatballs have actually ridden this bike? <<sound of crickets chirping>> That's what I thought.

I'll reiterate my earlier point that although this bike is 40 pounds you can still fully raise and lower the seat for climbing, thus making it ideal for places like the Shore. Remember kids, function over fashion.

Edit: for the record I'm a bit jeajous ;)

Hey now, dont throw me into this! I didnt have anything against the bike I was giving you sh!t as a former lewiston cronie!
As far as intense they have phenominal warranty and Canfield definently takes care of their owners!
Personally I like the bike and Id drop a load of weight off it but I think the new spec stuff is OK!
Not going to flame you! LMAO!
ANd as far as AVYs go they rock!

I think the word you are looking for Travis is "Sick".
Pinkbikers tend to throw it about a bit I understand.
As in "That bike looks like sick!!!!" or something like that...

LMAO! Only if I can do it like this!
SICK!!!

Just kidding Matt!

Matts a good guy, plenty fast on the DH and puts some bigger drops in to the mix as well! So aside of giving him $h!t about the bike hes fast and definently one of the coolest riders to hang with! And Covey when he's not hazy! I take that back hes funnier when he's hazy! :thumb:

Thanks for that info, appreciate it.

I'm very suprised that Specialized have increased weight, they have had a good trend towords reducing weight over the past few years.

Enjoy the new ride.
