All or nothing...death or glory...there is no other way.

You could do only one race if you wanted to, but to be considered for any overall honors they have a min. race requirement. With that said, get out there for those two races!!!

Anyone know what yearly lisc should be purchased if your not wanting to pay race by race? I was under the impression that if you hold a lisc you can race other locations outside of this series and get points toward certain events, but maybe someone who knows can fill me in. Other then this series I was thinking about doing the ashland super D if I can make it and wondering if I can use the lisc there.

Can't wait for the first race!

That would be the annual license available thru USA Cycling - www.usacycling.org

Andy you have to go to expert. Is in your DWB contract!

So, is anyone else excited that racing season coming up? I'm trying to figure out what stokage level I should be at right now seeing as how I haven't ridden my bike since the last hood race... Stupid injuries and snow!

How do we go about making this a "sticky", no jokes plz
I think if a sticky is made it should be titled "09 NW Races" and have this, the DuBu racing link, and others can be added maybe in bold type to stand out from other post as the year goes on.

Hahaha - the ol' rumor-mill must be bored since Sam signed w/ Specialized and Rennie w/ Morewood. I almost feel relevant!!! To squelch any rumors before they get much further, I will be Cat 1 next season...with the names Brent, Jamieson, Bentley, Sinske, Olson and more painted on my top tube for extra motivation. It might be hard to read that many names and I'm sure I'd stack it doing so. OK, I'll just store them in my noggin.

Definitely stoked about the upcoming season, but not as much as I am from riding in the woods for the first time in about a month this afternoon. WOOT:happydance:

Heal up, Jerry!

Thanks Andy! I actually rode Tokul today... I am out of shape!!! Good times though.
Jerry,Your not the only outta shape one! Injuries suck I am trying to get healed up ASAP. That stokes me out for race season big time, I know once it hits the adrenaline will be kicking and the pain will vanish at the starting line.

Lets just hope this year I don't end my season by crashing at the finish LOL atleast it was a good laugh for everyone watching me slide through the puddle.

Andy thanks for the license info!

Oh and to those who are racing for the first time this year you are in for a total blast! I was new to it last year (have not even had my DH bike a year to the day yet) so it was a totally new world that was a ton of fun and a great experience.

One more license question - - for the Hood races is my USAC license going to be enough? Or is the OBRA license going to be required too? I've been resisting Hood races because of that double-license crap.

Question for you guys, and yes its a newb question. I'm going to race for the first time this year. Ive been riding bikes for a long time but never raced. Any tips on how to prepare? Ive got a 7" travel bike and all the gear, I just need a place to ride. I ride colonnade but thats about it. What skills should I try to hone? Drops? Table Tops? What am I going to see on the race courses? Usually I would just say ef it and go but I'm finding the older I get, the slower I am to bounce back from a lickin. Oh, and if anyone wants to ride ever, let me know. Thanks

I believe the USAC license is enough - that's all I needed a couple years ago before Skibowl was a FR Cup location, at least.

alpineskiman - Ride as often and as much different stuff that you can. The key being often. Any kind of shuttle-assisted riding will get you closer to where you want/need to be in that regard.

Are there any legal shuttle trails in the area? I just moved out here and as of yet only know of a certain trail near a certain city about "27" miles outside of town. But I think that might be above my skill level. for now. Thanks for the advice.

I hear there's something about "11" miles east of that place on the same stretch of pavement. Don't know the legality of it, but it seems to be tolerated over other things like dumping, shooting, meth labs, etc. Otherwise, nothing in the immediate area legally shuttleable, but no shortage of hike/ride-a-bike trails spread around here and there. Definitely talk to folks at the Nade, as the locals tend to know more in person than they do on the boards. Another place to check out to get you comfy with jumping is SST.

What part of town you at?
