Yep,
Olympic Dirt Society is planning a Super-D race on Feb. 22nd here in Port Angeles. No, not on Dry Hill, it's going to be on the next hill over, commonly called the Foothills. It's a super fun, wide-open course with one slight climb and one 100yd grannygear/get off and run climb. The rest is one of the flowier trails around here, with a 1/4 mile 40+mph road finish with a possible skid contest after the finish.

This will be pretty low-key, no license required racing. More details and course description to come. Direct any questions to olympicdirtsociety@yahoo.com.

A race down the infamous suicide trail! I'll be there for sure, along with my posse from Oly.

Need any help with course prep?

ODS is off the hook! Somebody call 9-1-1, 'cuz they're on fire!!! I wish I could say I'll be there, but I probably won't. I'm about to throw a lot of money at my bike(s) in the next couple of months. I could potentially help out if you need volunteers.

We are going to test ride it shortly and let you know all the details. A long travel bike would be overkill, but rideable if that's your best option. I will ride my Heckler which should be about perfect. 5-6". It's super fast, very flowy, lots of natural doubles from the moto's. Should be in the 8-12 minute range. The trail is a blast to ride as anyone who has would attest. In the past you could shuttle it, but now there is a gate. But not on the 22nd of Feb!!!!

Hey man,
It's going to be cheap, so if you can come out you should race. The track is a blast.

Is this going to be a one day event? Will there be any chance to ride the course prior to racing?

There should be plenty of time to get in a couple of runs. In addition you could come out the day before and it is part of a sweet XC loop so you could check it out then as well.

Good to see some off-season events like this. Helps me keep motivated on those cold and dark night rides that you have to do if you have a day job and want to stay in shape this time of year.

Thanks to organizers!

Are there going to be classes for this race or everyone against everyone? Will the meeting point be at the usual DH location or somewhere else?

This could be a good way to get back into biking after my long break. Tentatively in. :clapping:
