Ahhh, Standard. Easily the shadiest, and most dishonest company that I have ever dealt with. Rick Moliterno and co. are thieves.

HUH ?
Standard is one of the OG companies out there , I'd be surprised if most of the older guys on this board didn't ride SBC back in the day .
I personally have a custom Lengthy chilling in my stash of older bikes .

Rick is a good guy , even thought I did hook him up with a Suntour Free-coaster hub after a UPG roots jam one year for a fork trade and he never made good on the fork  but I'm not loggin on calling him a thief or nothing .
Give these guys a chance it's good to see BMX companies stepping up to help legitimize the big wheel scene again !!
Props to Standard looks like a quality offering on their part !

To keep a long story short, I ordered a custom frame from Standard a few years ago. They took my credit card number, ran it, and never delivered. Kerry, Rick's sister, lied to me time and time again when I repeatedly asked her where my frame was. At one point she even gave me a false UPS tracking number. Shady, shady, shady. I couldn't care less what Rick's contributions to BMX have been. Ethics are far more important, and they're something that he is lacking in a big way.

I wound up ordering a brakeless frame from Metal. Like most custom frame orders, delivery was way behind schedule, but Jimmy and Joe Carnall (Jimmy's partner in the company at the time) kept me up to date with the status of my order. Joe, at one point, offered to throw in a free sprocket because the frame was delivered so late. I didn't think that this was necessary, and declined his offer. Anyway, Rick can take a few lessons from some of his peers in the industry on how to treat a customer.

Eh, while I'm on the subject, I'll throw up one more quick anectode.

While trying to figure out what frame to buy after Standard's thievery became aparent, I settled on a Terrible One Barcode or a Metal Burma. I eventually chose the Metal because Joe Rich at T-1 was honest enough to tell me that a custom frame would take months and months to finish. I respect that. T-1 has seen my money since then a number of times.
