As many of you know, yesterday marked the 6th Angelversary of Alaina going to Heaven. During today's ride, I got to thinking-- What positives have I done since she left? I came up with--

Promotions at work (games sup from dealing).....
Paying off debt for new appliances.....
Becoming chapter leader with wife for Compassionate Friends for 3 years.....
Riding Downieville's xc event.....
Riding 3 24hr events (Granny's at Northstar, Pueblo, and Cool)....
Riding Mammoth's marathon twice....
Riding Sea Otter twice....
Riding around Lake Tahoe....
Moving up to sport class at Northstar's event.....
Being able to walk my grandma down the aisle at both younger brothers' weddings....

Ok, so you get the idea. Now my question to you all is---

What positives have you done the past 6 years? Let's hear/read them. This is a feel-good thread, so let 'er race.................

In the past 6 years I have done a lot now that I think of it:

Got my first dog on my own

Lost a great friend and riding buddy that brought the rest of us closer.

Trained my balls off, got sponsored and won races. Since then I have quit racing and no longer train :disgust1:

Finally got my bachelor's degree

Became a bike shop manager after years of being a grom before groms existed.

Got an apartment with my gf.

Spent 3 months unemployed, riding, hiking and chilling with my dog during the day and at night with my girlfriend.

Stumbled upon a real career/job that I planned to do for a few months, it has been 2 years and I am still here. Money, company and benefits are great. Hours blow!

Was talked into getting another dog(fag dog) that I fell in love with.

Got married.

Fag dog had puppies.

Went on multiple trips out west with the wife to shred gnar and waist deep POW!

That is all for now.

-Got married
-got a decent car
-bought a house
-got divorced
-had to sell the car
-sold house
-got a nice raise
-built a cheap mtn bike and started riding with my brother and dad
-met some really cool folks
-lost 20+lbs

I know the whole divorce/loosing the house thing only sounds like a downer. In reality it's probably the best damn thing that could have possibly happened to me. Seriously, I'd recommend it to anyone.

Worth thinking about.

- graduated college
- didn't want a 'job' so built a few houses
- rode bikes lots
- got a 'job', rode bikes less.
- watched sister get married.
- 'job' let to excellent promotions and money
- started riding bike excessively
- watched several friends get married.
- raced a decent amount of dh
- raced 3 24 hour races. 1st in two, 2nd in one.
- got 3rd in an 8 hr solo on my SS
- got a nephiew and a niece
- quit racing and now just ride for fun.
- bought a house.
- bought a brand new truck.
- met a cute girl at a bike race.
- pos truck broke on a bike trip in Oregon leaving me and 4 others stranded.
- sold pos truck for a 10year old car.
- got married.
- got a really cool dog.
- visited: whister x3, moab, michigan, florida, texas, arizona, ny, oregon & washington, the bahamas, vegas a few times. All over CA. Rode my bike in most of them.
- learned a lot.
- learned that debt sucks.. the hard way.
- learned money does not = happiness. Freedom to make your own choices and live your own life = happiness.
- in the process of patenting an idea and starting a business.
- constantly resisting wifes maternal instincts.

Looking forward to the future.

Good thread.
