Hello all, I've had this haro 24" for a few years and I have loved it. Affordable and functional, it was my first bmx, as I was a "mountain biker" until then. It taught me huge amounts about bike control and stability, as well as hopping etc...anyway.......

While riding it a couple months ago I noticed a little crack emerging. I began "taking it easy" on it and just kinda hitting bowls and little stuff instead of trying to push it,and obviously the crack grew.

I don't have all the funds together for a new frame right now so its just kinda hanging out still built up, teasing me to shred it.
It's strictly for the liquor store trips now, which sucks, but I still have a mtb, so all is well until new frame time comes around.

So while the subject of broken sh1t is up, share yours!
Frame, cranks, bars, etc. I don't mean to create a pissing contest, or hate on "failure prone" products because sh it happens. lets see 'em!

Stop landing sideways, it's a stress crack from repeated torsion. You'll keep going through frames unless you land straight. Used to happen to me a lot, also leads to a lot of bent/broken rims.

bike is pictured on a slight downslope, running a 26" rear would be horrible. I just have ****ty tires on it that make it look super goofy. if I threw my comp III's on it it would look better, but still funny as the 1.9 rear seems small and the front 2.1 looks huge. would love to run 2.1's front and rear, but they wont fit in the stays.
Also, sideways landings causing a torsion crack seems like a valid explanation.

That really sucks - even in the winter it sucks not having a bike.

It's probably not much comfort, but I really think you can pick up a really nice used 24" frame to build back up with your existing parts off that bike. DK General Lee's are dirt cheap and they are a solid frame on a budget.
