Alright, so I saw this video the other day.

http://www.pinkbike.com/video/23064/

And I now want to learn how to do it. It is awesome, and I don't quite understand how it works. I can do a normal footplant or a footplant over a hip, but with this, do you 360, then plant your foot whilst in the air, or do you pull up and spin on your foot?

Thanks for the help.

Edit: http://www.pinkbike.com/video/49698/

At the end of this video, I see it done in slowmotion, I think he spins a little when he goes to hop, and than plants his foot?

They are actually quite easy. start out at a small bank to flat doing 180 footplants, I learned them on a 1 foot roller at my trails. To do a 360 foot plant, you need to bring the bike out wide and cut in with your foot down so you are getting a lot of momentum and swing the bike around with your foot that is on the pedal and your arms. then land it.

you should practice it on a razor scoot. very good way to learn.

you need to be able to do a 360 clean on what ever you are trying to do the 360 footplant. the roller/jump that he did it on in that video is perfect for the trick as you have a slight drop down so you have more time to finish the spin. basically all you do is go up to a roller throw your spin exactly like you where to 360 it and then when your between the 180-270 mark just slam your foot down. dont try and 180 into it footplant and then try to 180 the rest of the way out of the footplant, you just got to throw it like its a basic 360 and hit your foot down, the footplant is completely asthetic looking and in no way functional to the actual trick.

Thanks for the help guys. Yea, I imagine if I try to spin it with my foot, it would turn out to be a slow rotation and look lame... I will try to learn it, and maybe I could build a mound.
