The bike is finally done. Minus the Ti bolts for the stem and front wheel as soon as Profile gets them in stock, it is ready. I may swap pedals and try some Twisted PC but for now it is done. The frame started off white and I stripped it, primed and painted with a Limco 3 Urethane system. Really a high end paint job.

My living room has crappy lighting and my camera sucks. The frame and parts really stand out in good lighting. Final weight 27.5 lbs.

in the "24 inches of love" thread, there is a nice bit of information on replacing the stock springs with machining die springs which offers a slammed, super stiff fork.

Thanks, I remember Stoked had done that. Have to hit him up for the info.

Hmmm good point.

The bike rides very well at the indoor park. I put the stem directly on the headset and put the spacer on top. A quick bar adjust after that and it was golden. I cut the bars down to a respectable length.

I have to say it was tough at first but I quickly got used to it. I instantly notice how much lighter it "feels" even though it is the same weight as the Mob. Right away I notice the centrifugal wheel difference. The 2-6 just feels like a lot of centrifugal wheel force while the 2-4 feels like nothing at all. Quarters feel totally different. I will be getting larger 2.3" tires though as the little 1.95" are a bit skinny. Spindly is the word that comes to mind.

I have to admit on the first day riding the Molly I went slightly higher than I ever did on my Mob. Not sure why but I did. But conversely I think I would use the Mob for bigger dirt jumping. That was my goal anyway. I wanted a better park bike and use the Mob for outdoor bigger jumping.

All in all a nice feeling bike that really is effortless to spin around. I will be taking it to Ray's on March 22/23.

That is funny. I am heading there with a guy from NY! There are a bunch of us heading over there from the east coast - RI/NH/CT.

Somehow I missed this one. That thing is purdy... even if it is laker colors.

Yep I get a ton of crap on local forums in Celtic land. After I built it I sat back and said it is a Kobe special. I hate the Lakers. But I love yellow and purple on a bike... It looks better in person.

Satori - me too. But I wanted to do something a bit different. I wanted some BMX flava. I was going to build an S&M Dirt Bike but I just can't get my brain and body to go 20". So a 24" was it. I will probably never go rigid. I tried it on the Mob and it lasted 5 minutes before I took it off.

Now I have matching Twisted PC pedals in purple to finish it off. I am not a trendy person, but the grip on these pedals with 5.10 shoes is absurdly good. Plue they will lengthen the life of my shoes greatly.

Axis nice to meet you as well. Fun time. Rays was amazing. I rode my Mob most of the day on Saturday with a few rides on the Molly. Sunday I basically rode the living crap out of the Molly. I could not put it down. The bike is amazing.

The Mob was awesome on the bigger stuff like the outer line and the XC loop. But the Molly was equally as fun on the big stuff and was 10x better on the smaller, tighter stuff like the pump track and the Mongoose-GT-Redbull berm line.

The bike was really fun in the Mongoos orange room. All in all I love the Molly. Not sure which bike I like better at this point. I guess it is nice to have choices..

Rufus I was running K-rads on both bikes f/r. Really any street tire hooks up well. Most of the wood is particle board or another type of thin wood that grips well - unlike skatelite.
