Im over here now
not surprising to me really. for a company to try and "mass produce" bikes in the States is super expensive. for a boutique company is one thing, but as a corporation stands, it makes plenty of sense.

I know a lot of people on here aren't crazy about the big corp giants like Cannondale...
But honestly... I really liked their bikes. I had a Caffeine 29'er (Gasp) and a Caffeine 3 HT. The Lefty was great, really liked it as an XC fork and the Caffeine HT was sweet.

I really like my 1995 M900 and it really got me hooked on riding. Frame was great and went through several upgrades and XC glory but as many I have lost interest in the company long time ago.

and now they've lost what meager advantage they held over [generictaiwanesecatalogmanufacturer] in the eyes of prospective buyers. it'll be a race to the bottom now.

Actually, with basic manufacturing, I'm certain in the next 24 months people will realize that tons of product makes more sense to be produced stateside. Not entirely sure the US is up to snuff on several materials to make great stuff anyway.

My first really nice bike was a Super V 3000, circa '93....a bit of a bummer, but not really a surprise

I don't mind Cannondales. One of my buddies that works at the LBS just got a Moto and threw it together. That bike is cool. He got a large which is my size. i'm going to borrow it one day to try it out. It looks pimp. He rode one at interbike and loved it. I'm pretty excited to try it out. I might end up getting one next season.

God I lusted after that bike SOOO HARD! My boss at my bike shop had one, he let me borrow it a couple of times. Good times for sure...
