I can't ride just yet due to the fresh 6" of snow that got dumped on us here in Muskoka Canada so I decided to airbrush the used 888 RC2X WC forks I just bought. The rest of my bike has a fire theme and is both my ride and a great way to advertise the airbrushing side of my business.

I removed the rubber 888 logo and used it as a mask so I could paint the logo into the flames instead.
Anyway, I hope ya dig it as much as I do.

I am not a fan of flame jobs at all but great job on the airbrushing aspect of it. I like the 888 faux decal look.

Thanks guys.
I do realize that fire and flames on a bike isn't for everyone. I decided to use the bike as a way to draw attention to my business and I like the look myself.
Can't wait to clear coat them now and put them back on the bike!

I'm not saying that I don't like your flames, just flames in general. You have some serious skill dude.

Hope you have a way to protect the forks & cranks. I'd give that paint a week out here in Morzine...

Seriously nice paint dude.

Bikeshields are the way to go.

BTW. Nicely done but I have similar feelings to Rufus. Somehow I don't get flames (maybe because it's the only paintjob I see on 888 ;) ).

Can you just put something on the spots that you painted that are like that "clearbra" that you can get for your car?
I think they look cool. Flames are alright. Definitely not going to see another like it.

I myself would like winter camo stuff. I'm a camo freak.

You paint RC bodies? What kind of brush, paints do you use?
I can certainly paint RC bodies although I haven't done any just yet. As for my paints I use Auto Air Colors exclusively as well as Iwata airbrushes. clear coat all my work with Nason urethane automotive clear coat which is very durable. I've written several how-to articles for Iwata that can be seen on their website. My real name is Mike Bromelow and my nickname and work name is "Snax".

Any one interested in seeing more of what I do can visit my website at www.muskysnax.com
I make very lifelike fishing lures for a living and also do airbrush work.

I'm working on it right now actually!
I'm just taping off the last part of the Orange and then I'll do the Mongoose logos and clear coat her all up.
Talk soon.

Is that a Fineline?
It sure is! Dan does an incredible job on these frames. Canfield F-1 inspired but with a lot of his own original ideas. I love the square tubing and machined in sections. The octagonal head tube rocks too! His links are also super sweet and the whole frame is stiff as hell.

You are correct! I used a combination of freehand and a variety of shields to achieve the fire. There's also many different layers of transparent and also semi-opaque colors that give depth.
I also like the way the flames engulf the 888 logo. I used the rubber logo as a shield and sprayed over and around it thus giving the effect you see.
