I'm looking at a long term project in Toronto over the summer, but I know nothing about the area. The city seems pretty cool...i.e. good music/art/culture? Who's been? Of course the big question: Mountain biking, how is it there? What other outdoor things can be had. Thanks!

Mountain Biking in Toronto? You're not gonna find that many trails at all, or even mountains, so other than street riding it kinda sucks. I know that Orillia has a decent amount of riding and that's like an hour or 2 north of toronto, but that's pretty much all I can think of. And yeah they're lax on the weed up there, but the quality of it doesn't seem to be as good and it's from sketchy places.

Its a pretty clean city. I think there are a few parks around the city with MTBing but I never really looked in to it closely.

There's actually a good amount of XC in the city....I ride it on a street/DJ bike and enjoy it, others ride it on 17 pound XC bikes. It's prettymuch all flat, some short-ass steep-ass climbs but...it's in a city, so...

Lots of awesome street riding, of course, some scattered hucks, but not much in the way of DH, except some 30-second short trails.

Thanks for the input. How about hours drive or so...what would that get me?

I have....no idea! Never made any trips outside the city to ride. I know Blue mountain is supposed to suck, other than that you could look up O-Cup race locations for ideas I suppose. Albion Hills gets brought up a lot, no clue where or what that is.

What a bunch of dribble, have any of you even been to T.O.
There are tons of trails, some in Oshawa, Don Valley trail system, Blue Mountain, Kelso, Albion Hills, Orangeville indoor 4x, and a bike park is being built.
These places could provide mountain bike joy.

I am a late riser to find this thread. the advice is not to come here for the mountain biking. Only come here to have a good time.

oh yeah then compare it to montreal later to find out how much mmike is lying

ps. somehow people have fun on mtb here anyway but its craptastic. Well famous for being craptacular. It is not like we have some kind of surprise just waiting for you. Actually I have posted about it before. For some reason people here only mtb near waste landfills and sewage waste treatment plants. So like dont come for the fresh air. Or even expect that the smog will let you ride before 3am most nights

oh and its more polite to call us stoners

as for quality of weed id say its a crapshoot. never know what you are going to get

Depending on what side of TO you live there is great riding south of Buffalo, NY to ride. A lot of the silly talking canadians come here to ride. GOOD trails are probably 2 hours 15 minutes from TO with no traffic and cruisin 85mph on the QEW like the rest of the ricers.

Blue Mountain sucks balls, Orilla sucks balls, Canada sucks balls. I hear that Kelso is ok.

Beer is crazy expensive in a Canada and the people talk way to much for me to ever consider living there. If you call the wrong phone number there the person on the other end will talk your ear off! iit pisse sme off
