black market is no longer S&M related, I'm pretty sure.

I bet S&M will do chrome if you order custom, but just email them: they usually respond to questions in a day or two.

Suposedly dealers got a letter or email stating that they where stoppping all chrome frames. If that is the case one of the shops I deal with has a chrome CR 24 I am going to jump on it even though i wanted black

hmm it could be an environmental thing or possibly they were breaking?

mobs and S&Ms came out of the Santa Ana factory whereas the CR24 is taiwanese.

They won't do anything heat treated in chrome; supposedly the finish comes out ****. But I'm pretty sure they are still doing chrome on regular parts.

Now that makes no sense newrider... Heat treating effects the metallurgic properties of the frame.. not the surface finish. If after heat-treat, they prep the frame for chrome,,, it should make no difference whatsoever.

Ask Moeller, he said it during a web interview. He said they can't get a good enough polish on the rough surface left after heat treating.
