I don't have a pic of my 09 reign X standing still...but..THANKS LITTER MAG!

I took 4 years off of racing DH and signed up 30 cat 1 at Bootleg, front der/DRS and all. I did put DH tires on though..and ligheneing bolts. Almost won and got booed by 30yr olds who think i should be racing pro. Haha! Hey man-i got a kid and no DH bike!! And no more Semi Chump.

I'll be racing the stock bike class (160mm fork limit) in the Utah series this summer.

I don't see myself on a DH bike again. Mini DH is too much fun! C'mon 2010 Lyric 170!!!

Rumor has it the 2010 Reign X will be here in August/september....!!!

I'm gonna be laughed at for this but I just finished this little bike. It's a cheap frame that I picked up and I decided to give it a shot. It's surprisingly stable and really flickable, and tire hasn't rubbed the frame yet. Got an XT 8-speed shifter on Lx derailluers and shifting is crisp as hell.

manimal - your son's bar stem combo is almost as OTT as my daughter's

Here you go, proper mini DH. Orange Patriot.

Spec has changed a little since this pic. Boxxers at 7". Now has Fox Vanilla RC, with reduced stroke to get 6.4" travel. Angles are slackened off to real DH figures; 63HA, 13"BB, 56"WB.

There's nothing wrong with building up a cheap bike. If those are as solid as their 20" bikes then you'll have a blast riding it. I noticed recently that they discontinued their FS line and now are only making hardtails.

I gotta go garage saling and find one of these to build up for my 2 yo. He'd love it.

probably the nicest budget build I've seen. Great brakes, and that frame was way cheap through jenson. I've ridden one, and it is indeed a nice, snappy little ride. I forget which I rode, the 7 or the 5" version, but it felt tight. It did seem to have a high BB and the TT was too short on the one I rode. Otherwise cool.

Kinda makes sense coming from a company with a street/bmx background. People used to riding street and twennies would feel right at home.

finally got an updated pic of my BR. just switched it over from winter all-mountain to summer DH. changed the 2.1 block 8's to DHF/High Roller, 32T chainring back to 36T and tweaked my fork back to gravity plush.

This thread is dangerous! That little devil on my left shoulder is saying - "you need a bike like this, you need a bike like this"

And that Balfa 2Step DH in the classifieds is echoing what the little devil is saying! Yikes!

thanks :)

the unsagged BB height is about 14.5, no worse than the Ruckus (AM one) I have.

Turned my DH bike, into my do it all/mini DH bike.
Reduced the rear travel with a smaller DHX5 to 6.5", and slapped all my kit from my Pitch on to it(not stock gear). Unfortunatly I'm stuck with the White Bros inverted forks because anything else is too tall, even these give the bike a 65 degree head angle, but I'm going to put softer springs in them so I can weight the front more, and see if I can find a TPC cartridge or something else I can put in them for superior damping.

Got some new Nuke Proof pedals, they weigh about the same as my old Mag Welgos but are thinner, and a better shape, love em.

I'm running a PO1NT 50mm stem, Deity Dirty30s cut down to 740mm, give a lot of feel and control, but are a squeeze in the tight stuff, and not the best for climbing, but it's all about the decants, and fast flowy single track for me, and I'm happy to suffer for the rest.

Also running my Elixir CRs with A2Z saw rotors(stupid light, and bite well enough), 6" rear, 7" front.

Couldn't find an I-Beam post with enough set back that I need:o, so I'm running this RaceFace, and a SDG BelAir with Ti rails, cause I think they're the best.

Mine as it sat almost a year ago. Don't have an up to date pic. It's now sporting different tires, Flow rims on the same Hope hubs, and the biggest change, -1.5 degree headset reducers to give it a more DHish 65.5 degree HTA. Just spent a weekend at Platty on it, it ripped. Weighs about 33.5#.

geez...how is yours 6lbs lighter than mine?!
There's NOTHING heavy on mine. 1760g wheelset, single plys, tubeless, ti spring, ti railed seat, thomson stem/ post, sunline bar, air fork, blah blah blah.
