how is exit 38 looking?

Hit it last weekend. It's in good shape. Needs some maintenance but otherwise super fun. A fellow rider got growled at by a Cougar w/cub walking up to the warmup trail so be alert up there. Don't know details as he told us as we were leaving. Have fun!
gate trail needs work going to work on it tomorrow, other than that warm up is perfect, looks like some one did work on it.
The Gate trail only needs the branches cleared away. One of the things about the riding up there is that it is loved for it's raw flava. When I saw that somebody had put wire mesh on the entrance log of Gate I was kinda bummed. That entrance is one of the best parts of that trail and has never needed anything. Filling in a mudhole here and there, lopping some branches, and fixing some lips is all that is needed. Keep 38 raw and rough. That's why I love it.
Ya i noticed that to it was never there. Ya the branches in one corner are so bad that you cant even get through.
do not work on the trails unless you are only moving downed branches and triming back some brush. It doesn't matter how much work you put into Gate to get it riding smooth... two runs later all the rocks are back out and it's just the same as it was. That's what's so great about 38. It doesn't matter what you do, it's all natural and the trail becomes what it wants.

Me and my friends cleared the gate trail of trees, it was pretty bad.
Cannot i am going riding and getting me a new frame, hence mine is cracked.
Crazy hearing people shooting up there, i thought they were shooting my car. As a result of the snow and the rain it seems to get gnarlier every year, plus no maintenance up there.
i wanna get up there and shuttle soon im itching to ride 38
i rode gate when it was a river last year... AWESOME!! 38 is best in the rain. when it's dry it's fun too... but... rain is best.
I heard they were ticketing mountian bikers at exit 38, I wouldnt risk it.
Ive never had a problem, i would just act cool, or just push your bike up the hill.
Trails are in good condition.
$100,000 ticket and they use a trash compactor to smash your bike, on site! I wouldn't risk it either.
Yup they are ticketing everyone at 38. stay away!
Shuttle day today, we cleared out a few weeks ago, everything should be good to go, 4:30

It is legal to hike up there. The forest service is trying to preserve the salamanders that live in the area. no joke. ask anyone who has run into the FS.
There is no sign saying that Mountain bikers cant ride up there.

Wait...there are salamanders up there.....they freak me out..bears, cougars, even the slow riders I am OK with....but Salamanders, that is a different story all together!
There were for a while.
They will ticket your car, its not 100,000 but its not cheap, happend to my buddy last year.
