I'm new on this and i'm going to be moving to pullman soon. i've been biking for two months and i was wondering if there was any trails that anyone recommends.
Yep Moscow mountain is the closest Mt. Bike riding in the Pullman area. Moscow also has a skate/bmx park if you're into concrete jumping. You can roll down to Lewiston and hit Devil's Slide for some good cross-country (even in the middle of winter..it rarely snows). There are big dirt jumps out behind A&W in Moscow (been a few years so not sure they still exist). If you want to drive a bit more there is White Pine up north of Moscow on 95 then to 6 (check with Tim at B&L cycles in Pullman for directions). If you want to do a longer trip there is a lot of riding around Coeur d'Alene Idaho such as Canfield. Finally, a full day trip would be Schweitzer Mountain in Idaho where you can ride the chair lifts and bomb down the NORBA national run from 2004. Good luck with school, I assuming you are going to WSU because nobody actually lives in Pullman, if not sorry
what type of riding you looking for, moscow mountain has a great variety, Beacon in Spokane is close enough, lots of street and a few other trails. the A@W jumps were plowed 3 years ago as were all the rest of the dirtjumps that have been built.
There used to be quite a few trails around town and some pretty sick urban on campus. Get to know some peeps that have been riding there for a few years they can show you around.
Moscow mtn is good and close, there was also another place called silver pine? that was really good. Lots of opportunities in that area.
Who would want to live in Pullman? I thought the same thing before I went to WSU. Some of the kewlest areas in the nw are within a few hours drive of Pullman. You can ride your bike all over town and there are some pretty cool trails and good urban. Oh ya thousands of beautiful young women too!

Pullman is not a bad place for riding and no doubt there are thousands of girls during school. However, nobody stays in Pullman after they graduate. I notice your location is Renton not Pullman
When I went there I frequented Palouse Divide (white pine) and moscow mt. I rarely ever ran into anyone at Palouse Divide, and there are many really fun 15-25mile loops out there with fast singletrack descents. I recommend parking at White Pine campground, crossing the hwy, riding up the trail/doubletrack to Palouse divide and then experimenting with the various singletracks that lead back to the campground.
The bike shop in pullman had a small guidebook with maps that were quite helpful if exploring on your own
I try to make a trip back over there every couple years, those trails are great!
I just got back Pullman, we put in an offer on a house in Palouse. This is all good info...I'm planning on getting some xc time in on Moscow Mountain and down in Lewiston (and where ever else I found). I'm also planning on finishing up my roadbike build because you could ride for HOURS on those highways and all the hills should make for a great workout. Beautiful area!
