And had a good 'ol time. Rain held off most of the day, not too hot, nice tacky trails and smooth berms.

Man, do I suck at jumping. I''ve never nose-wheelied so many times in one day. And I didn't even crash. I fear I've used up my luck for the season.

Awesome.

I've got good role models...

We did 8 runs. Started at around 10:00 and packed it in around 3:00. No lineups to speak of.

A lap today took 20 minutes. Not all the runs were open, but plenty of good ones. Crank it up, Karate Monkey, a new one called Samurai Pizza Cats, A-Line, Whistler DH, Crabapple Hits, Joyride, Schleyer, Heart of Darkness (my new fave), B-Line(didn't ride it) and a few others.

How's business?

If Garbanzo is open (mid-late June) the laps get way longer.

Man, i still haven't made it out there. Too damn inconvenient. 21 hour drive, or fly in, rent a car, ship the bike. Spendy. Having a family and limited funds really puts a damper on my whistler dreams.

I heard that the jumps out there are lippy as hell. My friends that have been there before said the same thing. Said that they were stink buggin off everything till they got used to them.

Yup, I guess all the sculpting is pretty fresh. I'd more or less figured most of them out by getting my weight a little farther back. Until Crabapple hits. I landed on my rear wheel something fierce on one of the big tabletops. Shot my confidence to hell.

Since my log ride incident a couple weeks ago, and my capsized dead sailor incident a week before that, my self preservation instinct is in full effect. Just great for race preparations...

(back when i used to ride) crabapple hits used to give me fits, too. never felt comfortable on them, even though i would ride just about everything else on the mountain.

Yup. First hit is fine, then cased the second just a bit, sped up for the third and landed big-time-wheelie-stylee.

Joyride was awesome.

I still poop a little each time I think about that giant rock roller on the upper mountain. Haven't seen anyone do it, but watched two of my buds peep it.

triple hump, i think, up on garbanzo? it's definitely doable. i've fallen on it for sure (especially when wet!) but i've cleared it more times than fallen...

Haha. The lips are perfect. I prefer riding the jumping trails there a bit slower than mach 10 and slowing my rebound on my suspension so I can boost. the exception is crabapple hits. Don't slow down on those just boost!
