I know this is probably stating the obvious, but for lack of funds, you might be able to solve the majority of your problems with drainage trenches. My old trails had canals all over the place and worked really well. Then you can use that dirt somewhere else for fill.

used a bilge pump powered by a rider-mower starter battery today to bail out our pits. went pretty well for about 3 hours, and then it was toast. 2 of the 3 propeller blades broke.

anybody use one and find it reliable?

Are you running a prefilter to sift out sand and gravel before you ingest it into the pump? Sounds like you sucked up something nasty. You should be able to concoct some sort of filter out of chicken wire and foam filter material on the cheap. Look for the foam at a lawn and garden shop that sells fish pond accessories.

I would suggest a sump pump that is used in a basement, but those run on 110v, not 12v which is what your mower puts out. Try adding in a filter screen, or if you can get 110v use a sump pump.

not sure if you're still looking for a solution but
I've been using this.......

for the backyard mini track....

It's been working pretty good so far, had it about 4 months and used about 8 or 10 times already. Definitely be working on drainage more in the off season but the pumps been pretty good.
