new rider 3 he aint sayin that. he's sayin ride, but not on stuff your not prepared for/ maintaining. its a respect for the hard work that is required to make things possible, as well as knowing your limits and not being a little rat about it.

wooden trails that flow really well, riding in t-shirts in the winter. winters can be tough on the east coast. rays is something i look foward to. there's a skatepark inside but i wouldn't call the whole facility a skatepark. there's more to it.
even when Ray's is super-crowded like it was when i was there, you can ride the wooden trails lines because every 5 seconds you can drop in after somebody and just keep long trains of riders going.

the skatepark areas were unrideable--50 people sitting around on decks waiting for one rider to finish a run. THAT is what i will not drive across the country for.

but the trails lines are worth it. more bikeparks--and possibly even skateparks--should take design cues from that. i can visualize even a skateboard street course where you hit some ledges, stairs and keep going in a loop back to the start, instead of turning around on a bank or quarter and hitting the same ledge from the other direction. that prevents people from following you....

medford, or
It is gonna open this coming Friday the 29th. They just need to build a berm/wallride at the end of all the runs... it is tight. They really build as much as possible!

Hey we are here in Cleveland. During the cold war they put icbm's here because of all the natural cloud cover... hide from survailence etc... The weather sucks, the river ... not the ohio river but Cleveland's river has even been on fire! The goverment is so backwards they still favor horse riding... not over bike riding... but at the expense of bike riding. We got Rays and chenga...
At least Clevleland has something. Won't ever win a championship at anything, and unless we have another cold war those hangars will stay empty, so now Cleveland's claim to fame can be Ray's.

Sorry, I had to. I really have nothing against the place. Ray's actually seems pretty rad to me. Looks like there's a ton of different things to play around on. It would def be a great way to get away from those winters.

Ya that video is eff'in funny! I have a lot of time in at the dirt room now and it is a lot of fun.. just bought a 20" yesterday and rode it there today. I haven't ridden bmx in 24 years! Modern BMX's are so much better, stronger and lighter.

it's like that due to liability issues. i wonder if they'll add more next year as it expands and stuff. this may just be a sort of pilot kind of thing.
Ya liability and the fisheye lens really alters how it really is. The lips are steeper and bigger than it looks. Granted they aren't huge.. like 7' or so.

They plan to add an outside berm and more jumps that bring you around and back to the beginning inside. They also want to add a 2nd floor with a mini ramp.

I have some questions. Is all the dirt local? How do they maintain it during the week? Whats going to happen during the winter?
The dirt came from behind the complex.

Employees and kids maintain it everyday.

It will be open until the weather is too bad... hard to say witht he weather here but at least mid mate Novemeber.

They are gonna frame up some of the girders to make a second floor half pipe and maybe a few more park ramps.
