'They make the announcement'
are you that gullible?
Mike Redding (TLD MTB sponsorship coordinator) and Palm are friends, Mike gets very excited when Palm gets on a bike, they have a new Palmer D2, Redding sends a quick note to Rosey at DIRT...it's all simple, takes moments, there is no big money conspiracy. Palmer really likes riding moto and mountain bikes. I guess it is cool you think the bike business has the money to be promoting an old ex racer though, proof marketing works I guess.

I do know that Jesus fairies put stacks of $20's under Palms pillow at night so he can eat up at solvista, I hear it gets pricey.
Dude, get off your high horse.

Kanter: I'm w/ you on this one. So many people in this thread have already said how influential Palm was to them, so no one wants to see the guy go the route of OD'ing and dying an early death (again). So yes, I'll pray for Palm to do well, stay clean and represent.

The dude missed winning the '96 Worlds by a split second on his pretty much self funded first year on the WC Circuit and lost by that split second to the greatest DH'er of all time in his prime. B-A-D-A-S-S! People say he is old and a has been but Peaty is still whipping a lot of young butts. I can't wait to see how he does!

What the hell did Palmer do to you... He's not doing this for the money, or to sell more product. What product are you even referring to? His new D2 helmet? He's probably doing this because he is competitive, restless, and looking for something to focus on.

I agree. If he still truly has the passion for DH and he wants the sport to progress, especially for the US, then get into a quality coaching role and help these young, talented riders make it to the top.

I see no reason whatsoever for him to come back other than to make a paycheck off of some advertising campaign. I highly doubt that he will get back to the level where he will be taking home a good chunk of change nor do I think that he wants to put himself through that.

It is a media stunt to sell more product, that is it.
