i not only managed to break my wrist but f'ed it pretty bad to the point where i will have limited motion and i am not sure what else, but the doctor insisted it won't go back to the way it was. my question is wrist support products.looking for something that severely limits my ability to move the wrist. something that in an impact would prevent reinjury. suggestions?

I think Don Joy makes a really nice one. I've seen a few locals on something like that. I think Chris Van Dine wears a really burly wrist brace. You can see a picture of it in the DECLINE that covered Sea otter.

Sorry to hear about your wrist.

This may not be very encouraging, but my buddy had a bad wrist from an old injury snowboarding. When he finally got insurance to get it looked at, the doctor informed him he had a serious fracture that was constanly re-breaking and would never heal. The fracture was giving him tons of pain, so he decided to do something about it. The only option was to fuse his wrist...

He had the surgery last fall and he's currently ripping! It's kind of strange because his fingers and thumb still work, but nothing else. The doctor even fused it so he could grab handlebars perfectly.

If you want, I can try and ask him for more info, or contact information if you have any questions...

The minute they start mentioning the word "fuse" - GET A SECOND OPINION!!

The ortho wanted to fuse my wrist the second time I fractured it 6 years ago. I have 100% full range of motion now, even under load. I was back at 100% with it a year later, and was riding DH again within 2 months. Do not listen to a word they say if they want to go that route unless you have multiple qualified sources all coming to the same conclusion.
