Didn't managed to find English report from their press-meeting, so I'll try to briefly mention the most interesting parts of the Czech report (also pictures do come from there).

Elektro-bikes: KTM in cooperation with Panasonic and BionX introduced first-ever MTB bike equipped with elektro-engine. Engine stops working when 25kmh speed is reached. Overall bike weight is 20kg / 44lbs:D. Battery can re-charge either from A/C plug, or by braking, or by shifting an reverse gear during the downhill. Engine is very sensitive on your pedal stroke and quickly accelerates you which may lead to unstable ride when uphilling.

Rear wheel with some computer:

Unfortunately, there isn't much interesting info on their re-designed DH and FR frame. Prices: Apex=4700eur; Tribute=3400eur; Caliber45=3200eur and Caliber38=2400eur.

That's all, hope international magazines will bring more details.

I'd be interested to see the geometry figures to see if they've followed the recent trends in Dh like a low BB and slack HA, or if they've stayed more traditional to be safe.

The headtube is a mistake, too complicated.
Front triangle is a bit too complicated, as well, IMO.

not the most impressive designs but its nice to see a company with some financial clout entering the DH scene...hopefully it helps up the ante in terms of pay scale for athletes....

anyone else find it ironic that this hit the euro sites first despite KTM being an american company??

EDIT: just saw stiks post....haha, scratch the whole financial clout bit...

Looks like a much heavier implication of adjustable head tube the commencal/scott and lapierre have. 150g extra on a frame as claimed by commencal. This is quite a bit and if this ktm idea weights more than it's crap in my book.

oh, i could be wrong but i thought they were american...they're at least made in america, no?
that would be hard as they infringe the fsr patent. At least the old ones did and they couldn't be sold in the us like some other companies (ie. lapierre with vpp and devinci with fsr). Still I may be halucinating as the humidity here got tropical and my brain gets little oxygen.

stiksandstones, what about this government thing?
I think KTM bicycles is Austian, as well, but they produce in Asia, as majority of brands.

Yep, KTM is Austrian company based in Mattighofen near Salzburg. Their frames are manufactured in Asia assembled in Austria. Some pictures from their assembling "factory" here. There is NO way their frames to be manufactured in Austria for that price ;).
