Hey guys some of you know me or have seen me every weekend (Light blue Brooklyn), well last Sunday had a crash on domboo not to hard but landed chest first straight to the end of the handlebar and crush my ribs and lungs, after the crash continued riding with some discomfort in my lungs. Today rays X show a broken Rib. :(
Had plans on riding every Friday and Saturday had a trip to platekill and highland have to cancel everithing......It really sucks will be out for 4 to 8 weeks.

Enjoy the season for me....:(:mad:

Do yourself a favor, and wait the entire time the doc recommends. I made the mistake of not listening and missed a lot more riding time b/c I rebroke my broken rib. Twice.

damn omar that sucks. you know my story with the ribs,it sucks, but its going to happen in our sport. hope you heal fast and see ya soon. keith

Yeah - what he said......I did the same playing rugby at school, came back too soon and damaged it again. DOH.

Seems like a slew of us are getting hurt as of late.

Like others have said, listen to the doc and take it easy. Feel better dude!

sorry to hear about your injury Omar. were you wearing upper-body armor, or wouldn't it have helped? just wondering, because yes, a lot of folks have been getting hurt lately! heal quick.

sorry to hear about the injury, man. I think I met you towards the end of last season. I've been out since the 2nd weekend of the diablo season with a broken collarbone, hoping to ride again sometime in August if the doc and therapist OK it. Better to let it heal fully than come back half-assed and injure it again (and again).

It really does seem like there's been a LOT of injuries this season, and that's just from what I've been reading on the boards. Guess that's the nature of the sport though.

Yea, it's the nature of the sport, plus it's been a sh!tty year, weather wise, Wet, Raininy trails are part of the blame.....

I've seen people crash in places that they usually rip... Domboo, Green Horn, Twist, lower breatout.... etc...

Sorry to hear about your crash. Hope you feel better soon man. I fractured a rib on that step up on Crap Chute. Put me out for six weeks. That's a bummer about your other trips though.

Sorry to hear that bro, no one wants to be off the mountain for 6 weeks but it could be worse you could have had to miss the rest of the season. Heal up soon!!

if it helps, i have to get surgery on my thumb on tuesday. i had the dumbest little crash, stuck my hand out just to catch myself, it got stuck between 2 rocks and i heard it snap. 8 weeks from then...

anyway, get well dude

I know? i actually broke the metacarpal in half and stress fractured the bottom part in 3 spots. can't believe i tried to ride Sunday...

i'll be @ Highland for the Claymore filming and taking pics.

Probably still make it down to Diablo, i should have some of sept. and oct. to ride...

Thanks everyone I will follow what the Doc said, although 8 weeks is very long this is my first broken bone and I still can't believe that such a stupid crash is putting me out for so long.

Butters-lsd sorry to hear about your injury and hope you come back soon, I think I will be back by September.

broken ribs are the worst. Sorry to hear man. I broke two falling out of a tree a few years ago (stupid drunk college moment) and was in complete agony for what seemed like a month before it got bearable.

It hurts when you breathe deep also when you cough and the worst pain is when you sneeze. If you broke it there is nothing the doctor can do, may be just give you some pain killers, the ribs heal on their own.
