nice video, although you dont really get to see much of the helmet. I looks to have a longer and thicker mouth peace. Who else noticed all the 2010 gear?

Id like to say nice looking helmet, but cant really see enough apart from to tell that is similar to a D2(no bad thing).

An i bet Dylan Dean is regretting not using D3 as his company logo when he was looking round for ideas last year

i actually AM using the "d3" mark. Troy called & asked if it was cool that they use it. I said no problem & signed an agreement with them allowing them to use it.

it actually looks pretty sick. a bit different in areas, than the previous version... kinda borrows lines from their mx & other mx helmets i've seen. it'll be top notch for sure.

Even though the palmer D2 is a 2010 helmet, i think the plan is to have the D3 carbon and the D2 in fiberglass only for..later 2010? I wouldn't count on the D3 being out in august, i think we will see it at Interbike and it will be out sometime after that, but not necessarily right away.

probably a more appropriate level of protection for the speeds these guys are riding. the d2, though sexy (it's all i've ridden for the last 8 yrs), seems a bit minimalist.
i was talking more about the face guard. it seems to be real far away from the face compared to the D2.

The rear looks like it comes down farther, to protect the back of the head - good. That was something I did not like about the D2.

Looks good! I probably won't be able to afford one, but sure looks cool!

FAIL! :D

Fixed it for you. Not digging it. If it's gonna be from Troy Lee, I only ask 2 things.

1. A visor cooler, pointier and higher than most
2. To look pretty much identical to a D2

That thing has about 8-10 too many vents and fins and sharp edges. Reminds me of a BMW street/trail. :(
ya but you know everyone will buy one because it's a Troy Lee.

seen the new s1100rr from BMW? cool from one side...although quite the rip off of other bikes..

the other?
wtf were they thinking?

I think the D3 is a step in the right direction for tld. Every year the sport of downhill is being pushed by those at the top and these boys at the top are going fast enough to get serious head injuries. This progression in speed means more risk for injury and I believe that tld is doing an excellent job of adapting to the times and producing a product that fits the bill of what a downhill racer should wear. The speed of downhill racing has increased a lot since the d2's first inception and it may not be adequate for some crashes so I think it quite appropriate that tld introduce the next generation of protection for downhill racers.

i think after sam smashed his face into the ground doing 45 at worlds he wants a beefier helmet.

i have just recently gone back to a TLD DOT moto helmet. i crash on my head way to much for it not to be a DOT.

Your face.
This is all pointless. It could have feathers, sparkles and a big rubber dong on the mouth guard, and its still going to sell just because it says TLD on it. TLD could put his logo on dog **** and sell it to racers, and they wouldn't blink at paying twice as much for a product thats exactly the same as one with a different name.
