I've been changing out most of the components on my bike recently, and this weekend I was finally able to put everything together. The wheels took almost 6 weeks of waiting before I finally got them :panic:

Either way, I took a quick picture today... so yeah.

It's not quite done, still have been lazy to rip off the stickers on the rims. Also, even though the chainline looks pretty spot on, the chain clicks a bit occasionally, primarily when pedaling backwards... I'm not sure why. The chain is also grinding into the lockring a little, I don't know if that's normal. I'm hoping it's maybe the lockring is too big and is the cause of the clicks

yuppp

what kind of rear hub did you get? When I put mine together, the only option was to get an atomlab pimp with 12mm axel.
It's a Profile Single Speed MTB hub. If you get that hub, your spacing abilities for the rear cog is pretty much void so you have to get lucky with your chainline. On my setup, I have to run a 25T front sprocket, and have it super close to the chainstays as well

$250 for a mob is a good deal... I wish I got a deal like that

Nice looking ride.

Word on the profile hub, they should give more adjustment. My chainline is pretty far off, but i keep my chain snug and it doesn't skip or pop off.

Yes good looking Mob. I too have a Profile SS hub on my Mob and also got lucky on the spacing. Running 24/12 with a Tree splined. Drivetrain fits like a glove though. Enjoy that thing.

wait, whaddya mean "got lucky on the spacing"? i have had alignment problems before with certain hubs and bb combinations... are you saying the Profile SS mtb hub lines up weird on a MOB ?

You can't run a front sprocket that's larger than 25T if you use the Profile SS and have a Blk Mrkt

Figuring out the chainline thing was such a huge pain... When I got the rear wheel and put it on, I thought I was screwed because it looked like the chainline was way off. Last weekend, I took the bike to a few bike shops and one of them found out that the front sprocket wasn't spinning totally true, it had some wobble so it gave the impression that the chainline was off. I guess the powdercoat on Deity's Vendetta crankset isn't perfectly even, so the drive side crank arm had to be filed and a washer was put in place to dial in and true the sprocket.

After that, I noticed that the chainline was still just slightly inward on the cog, so after making like 5+ trips to bike shops today, I was able to find a small 1mm spacer to get the cog lined up just right. You can't really run much more spacers than that with the SS hub... on top of the spacer that's already there, you have maybe 1-3mm of room to push out the cog before you have to start thinking about the lockring's threads...

On top of that, I discovered that the clicking the chain was making is because profile's lockring is so damn huge... the chain was rubbing it and causing it to skip. I don't know if you had that problem too, DirtBag, since you're also 12T like me. I had to get a dremel and slowly grind down little rivets where the chain hits on the lockring... now it's finally gone

that was long

Thats soooooo true. With my profile hub the the spacing is retarded, theres no way fro me to move the sproket in more or else it would hit the frame and the hub just doesn't adjust at all. I could possibly make some spacers that are thin but that wouldn't even change it enought and probly isn't worth it. Just have to keepo teh chain pretty tight or else it clicks and gives me problems all the time.

Anyway sick build dude. good luck with your chain problems. I would suggest a Tree splined drive if you have the money to fix the bolt on sproket problem.

Thanks man. Right now everything is fine but I still need a smaller lockring to really solve everything. Did you get the problem with a 12T cog and profile lockring where your chain hits the lockring because its so tall? I'm not sure where to find a smaller lockring that fits profile hubs either

EDIT: I just realized I have my rear cog on backwards, which was the cause of the lockring issue, but if I flip it then my chainline will be completely off...

here's a picture of the dremeling I did on the lockring, solved the chain clicking without me having to flip the cog. I guess its kind of makeshift but whatever yaddidameen

Yes that is the chainline issue. You need a small chainring to get the right chainline since the cassette is so close to the hub. Again for me it worked fine as I use a 24t. Perfect chainling. Actually everything lined up perfect including the cranks clearing the chainstays.

I don't have any issues with my chain hitting the lockring. I use a KMC 710SL.

Do you guys have a problem with the rear wheel on a mob? I have a problem with a normal spaced rear wheel being too close to the left side. Does the rear wheel need to be dished to the right? Also what size tires are you running in the rear?

Hmm the wheel wheel for me is pretty much dead center and the disc brake is on point too. I forget if my holy rollers are 2.2" or 2.4", I'll have to check

yeah I have a 2.2" in the back... it looks like a 2.4" would still fit though, just slightly tight clearance

The 04 and possibly 05 Mobs had narrower chain stays, giving room for only 2.3s... (But not asymmetrical or anything weird)

newer ones should fit 2.5s unless yer wheel melted...

Spoke to Carter today the older verticle dropout can fit a 2.2 and the newer horizontal dropout ones can fit a 2.3-2.4 pending on the tire. Like my holly roller 2.4 fit on my new ss mob but i was having problems with my older verticle d.o. one. Seems wy wheel is the problem

I have a riot and a profile single speed hub. I have the 11t driver and a 23t sprocket and my chainline is still off. I even made a custom bolt like this:

http://www.danscomp.com/457002.php?cat=PARTS

My cranks are super close to the frame. The sprocket is as far in as it will go. I think a 68mm b.b. shell would help with the chainline, but the sprocket would hit the frame.

i have a mob with Diety cranks running 26x12 on it and i have a problem with the drive side not being out far enough. it looks like i can only fit the 26t. The mob has a 73mm bb shell. i personally think i need a wider spindle. you sprocket is really in close. i think the problem is the Profile ss hub on blkmkrt frames. there is no room to play with the rear chainline. I use a 9speed hub with ss spacers and a 12t rear cog but 12 is as small as they make. That is fine for me 26x12 or 28x13 is better for me anyway

Looks like having a Mob and a Profile hub is tough. Fortunately I have a 24t Tree splined up front so I have the room and clearance. At least with the cassette version you have a bit wider body to work with. If needed you can stick a super slim spacer in there. The Driver version looks even slimmer and seems to be closer to the hub.

I mean even the 24t is right up against the BB and chainstay:

with my mob i went and bought a tree lite sprocket and notice how beside the sprocket faceing out is a good 5cm lip?
i just simply turned the sprocket so its facing the other way and therefore it lets you get closer to the frame without touching it.

fixed my problem
