Hey guys, we're getting a lot of calls and now some walk in traffic where people are thinking that we've got biking open to the public.

I know this isn't the best venue for it but I'd like to make clear that we will absolutely not have any bike park open to the public this summer. We will have a race with a fantastic course on aug 22-23 and it will be open to everyone those days- please come out and race or spectate, its gonna be a blast.

We really appreciate all the interest and please keep calling, that will show the owner and GM that the interest is there and help the cause for opening up to the public next spring.

The main thing is that the upper management is not really enthused about bikes, with liability being the main concern.

Yesterday we had a rider come up, park in the parking lot and saddle up on his all-mtn bike and without saying a word to anyone rode past me and and several other employees and lots of our zipline customers, I had to chase him down as he was starting to pedal up the slope. He said he wanted to check out the trails, and I appreciate that. But that's not the way to do it- and right now there aren't any trails that are open to the public- for pay or for free.

So please, if you aren't accompanied by Liam, Andrew or Mike, don't come out to hawksnest to bike. We're really working hard to make a bike park possible next year, but if mtn bikers become a headache and the GM sees me leaving my other job to deal with traffic from bikers its not going to look good.

Please call the resort or PM me on here if you have any other questions. Thanks for cooperating, we have a big opportunity here so please help us by respecting the access situation for now.

I saw two people on xc bikes climbing up skiview two days ago...I don't know if they were headed for the track but it did not look likely that they survive the ride down.

Edit: sounds like a good reason to get a link on the hawksnest website running so there's a more "official" notice posted somewhere.

I guess people have heard the word.

Not just yet. Seems like everyone who has expressed interest has been able to ride it with one of us anyways. This weekend is going to be a very big weekend for the Zip Lines, so we need to hang low as far as that goes this weekend. Like Liam stated, the upper management is noticing a big increase in riders and I think we need to get some legal coverage first and foremost before any big rides happen out there.

Nobody rides there without one of us! Please respect this as it could affect the future of riding at Hawksnest

I was there with Liam and others last week and had a chance to see what they had worked on. Great Job on the trail guys. To others, Please listen to what they are saying and give them a chance to do it right. There is a chance to have a great trail system set up there and these guys have worked really hard on this. It wll be worth it to all of us if they can get this going. Please come out to the race and help support..

I appreciate all the support guys, its hard to want to spread the stoke but also have to keep people waiting at the same time.

C-los, the dirty is a great first race to enter. We're having a strict rule that we're trying to take the serious out of racing with this, so it'll be all about fun.

Also we've got I9, Eastern, Music on the Mountaintop tix, specialized tires, and other great sponsors on board so there's always a shot to win some good gear. I think we're gonna try to have a raffle entry included with race registration so even if you don't place you'll have a chance at some cool crap. The general idea here is gonna be bikes, gravity, beer, and prizes. Who can argue with that?

Thanks again to all who came out and rode with us to test things out and preview the track. We'll try to keep everyone posted about an open public day in late july.

Look at it this way,if I race you won't finish last fer sure. I've been rockin' old fat and slow for many years now.

.......Heck, I say they should have an official O.F.S. class.
