Reminds me of white zombie.

ya except a few key differences... Rob Zombie's drawing style comes directly from Ed "Big Daddy Roth"... and last I checked... Roth with his style and his hot rods absolutely kill Troy Lee. Whether or not TLD is trying to pay homage to him or not, I dunno... but he failed miserably.

Bunch of haters.

I've long thought that we should be following ski/snowboarding footsteps and go bright/loud.

Photographers will love it. Nothing worse than someone turning up in black or brown.

I'm liking this.
Ywt then we are bagged for not having our own image?
I am all for brown and black and subtle, that is our image.

IMO the reason every one is bitching about Troy Lee gear specifically is that they all want to be one of the cool/trendy kids an wear the label. But since %90 of the line up is pajama/clown suits they're upset because they haven't got the conkers to standout in a crowd.... Other wise they wouldn't bitch an moan, they'd just go out an buy some other brand(as mentioned most of them make LOUD kit as well)

Yeah, it's huge right now but I think people see how foolish it looks in MX or the snow and don't want it happening to our sport.

Maybe I'm just old and scarred from wearing this crap in the '80s. I still cringe when I see some old pics from that era.
I think it looks awesome in MX.

I agree. As Craig Finn from the hold Steady sings, "I survived the 80's one time already, and I don't recall it all so fondly"

I like laud colorfull and crazy 80s style clothing but what TLD does simply looks like a costume (and a bad one). The fox new stuff however looks badass imho

I think the knee jerk is that TLD used to be known for clean, subtle MTB oriented gear. They were some of the first to make DH specific shorts and slim cut jerseys and obviously the D2. Most (not all) DHers aspire to own a D2. Every grom ripping it in jeans and a tank top will sport the styling of the D2 before ever succombing to a matching kit.

They used to be known for their muscle car asthetics. Seeing TLD go gaudy and full on moto is tough to swallow. I think people see Troy Lee as a DH clothing brand that's "selling out" to moto. Sure he made his name on the visors of pro motocrossers, but didn't they release DH race kits BEFORE every making gear for moto? Many feel a certain loyalty to a brand that's supported our sport for so long and WANT to buy from them.

Plus....alot of us on this forum are older than dirt and have lost touch with "the next big thing" syndrome.

Im over here now
just read the new Mountain Bike and saw a funny comment from SkaTodd about Sam Hill's pink TLD gettup at Ft William:

"all the internet dorks who complained and whined about Sam Hill wearing an 'ugly' kit at Fort William need to be cock punched for not each individually apologizing when Sam announced after the race that the pink was done to raise money for breast cancer research after two of his friends recently were diagnosed."

Mr Hill can now cock-punch me.

They are just releasing more details about it at crankworks.

Hopefully see them for sale soon. =]

The back is higher up to accommodate more clearance for as leatt.

I will see if I can get some more details right now...

Total Heckler, thanks for the info. Hopefully there's something that doesn't look like pj's for your head.

Just because it was for charity and a great cause (great job sam) doesn't mean it wasn't ugly. It'd be cool to see more guys sell off thier kits for charity stuff like that, ugly or not ;)

What happened? Were you running a Leatt? I highly suggest riding with one if you aren't already. Saved my neck a few times already. With what were doing, its such a good idea to invest in good safety equipment. I mean, Philip Polc going down at crankworx is a perfect example of how bad things can be in this sport.

I will post up anything I find out...

two Evil riders down? what happened to him?
Apparently he went down off of one of the wooden bridges on the Garbonzo race (I think?) and his head went straight into a log. Apparently air lifter out with a suspected broken neck. Horrible news. =\

Regarding the D3, TLD is being pretty tight lipped about the details for right now. But, apparently there will be more details leaked at a party in Whistler in the next 5 days...

Keep an eye on Peaty and Hill this week at crankworx...

Not sure how it happened but I ended up going headfirst into a waterbar filled with mud and fun stuff. I've been wearing a Leatt for over a year now, it saved mine last year.
