I went to diablo last friday and by the end of the day my hands were all blistered up even though I was wearing gloves. Seems that the problem was from Alpine and IndyCross. When I went 2 weeks ago, the trails were fine, but on Friday there were ruts on every single turn. Anyone else have the problem and know if they regularly repair the issue?

normal for the most ridden trails on the mountain. ruts and braking bumps are the norm towards the last half of the season.

as for your hands...try changing out your gloves during the day. damp gloves = blisters.

also........perhaps........differents grips and try to relax your grip a little!

as for the brake bumps and ruts.........illflip is right...........as the season progresses.......it just gets like that! Got flow a little more instead of muscling the rig around!

problem is not the trails. if alpine and indy are too rough for you hands some else is wrong. ease up on the grips. or get ones that are more comfortable

Dont rough up the suspect for at least 2 days prior to riding, that will greatly improve your grip.

Thanks for the tips. About Alpine though, the only problem is right down by where greenhorn and alpine meet.

Plus, anyone know of a full finger glove that offers plenty of padding on the palm? My fox bomber gloves are not too comfy.

"rough up the suspect" is possibly the best euphemism I have ever heard.

Also, to the OP, do you ride regularly? The hand issues are something that will generally go away with time as you ride more and your hands get used to the stress.

More padding might not be the answer... I had the same problem, tried gloves with more padding and the problem was worse. What did help for me was a combination of thinner gloves (Sombrio Forensic), larger cush-ier grips (Oury lock ons), and calming down the death grip. I have fairly large hands, and love the oury grips, I feel lost on a set of thin grips now.

Well, it sucks because with the rentals, I can't change out the grips which seems to be the main issue.

I think this is the answer.

I had massive grip and forearm pump problems last year running a thin grip and a padded glove.

This year I went to a thicker grip( Deity) and a no pad glove( Dakine defender[?]) and my pump factor is WAY way down. Still working on the death grip issue........the more i ride......the more I progress....the less I notice the issue. Never gotten blisters though.
