Hope Polc is not as bad as this is sounding. He's a top fella.

Huge congrats to Juzzo and Chris!

I just got off the phone with Gabe and it looks like Polcster has been give the all-clear! WHEW!! He had us biting our nails there for the past 24 hrs. One of those times when you're happy someone has a really bad neck strain, especially considering the alternative!! Looks like he'll be enjoying some Kokanees and resting up for the remainder of Crankworx.

I just saw on twitter. Such good news!

RT @Evil_Bikes: An update on @polcster - Looks like it was all just a real bad sprain. Nothing on the CAT scan, nothing on the MRI. Super stoked he's ok!!

Excellent news about Filip! Now wrap those boys in bubble wrap and throw a Leatt on them and they should all be good to go.

Photo Slideshow At The Longhorn

Last night I went to the photo slideshow and raffle at the Longhorn put on by Zero Ceiling, an organization that gives disadvantaged youths a chance at better lives. Dan Barham, Seb Rogers, Harookz, Chris Winter and Eric Berger each had a section in it.

The raffle before the show

The photos were awesome, of course. Hopefully they gave me some inspiration for shooting the rest of the week.

Whistler isn't dry and dusty anymore. It started raining lightly while I was at the longhorn. Just after I got back to my hotel room at the marriot up on blackcomb at like 2am, it started pouring pretty hard. I woke up to rain this morning. It stopped for a bit, then rained until about 4 or 5 this afternoon. I went down at 7 and the village was pretty empty compared to other days, with only a few people riding.

Just read about Filip on FB.
That's awesome news. He'll be sore for a while, but I'm sure he'll be happy being sore...

Towing the party line.
Chad at Dincus Clothing gets party of the event so far with Damage, Inc. A Metallica cover band. It was ****ing spectacular and benefitted the Whistler medical center, a place that Chad, as well as many others, know very well.

HUGE mosh pit by 1 am. Even Palmer showed up.

From what I have seen in the past Polc doesn't ride with a Leatt.

Again, very glad to hear hes ok.

I had a really bad strain in my neck once from going over the bars and landing on my head in the middle of a motocross race (almost 10 years ago now). Got bucked in a whoop section. Not fun times, but after a few weeks in a neck brace and some chiropractor action I am basically back to normal.

Hope he makes a speedy recovery.

Just a quick note - Filip Polc was medevaced to Vancouver and possibly has a broken neck after slipping on a wooden bridge and slamming his head into a log. Send positive vibes, he will need them.
When and where did this happen? It's terrible. I had a short talk with him at the top of CIU/Schleyer/Joyride on Sunday at about 11:30 and he was asking which way to go to find a fun trail.

Lots of healing vibes.

donno if you've read the rest, no broken neck, severely strained. Life/season is not over for him.

I finished reading the thread and saw that it's just a strain. I'm still curious to know when and what trail. He was asking me what CIU was like and I told him it was really mellow and recommended Schleyer instead for more fun. I hope it wasn't that run.

Jason - I'm not sure where on the course it was but it was during the Garbanzo DH race.

Polcster should be back up at the mountain this afternoon or tonight so everyone can buy him beers at the Longhorn & GLC.

This thread is lacking, save for a few choice, non-repost tidbits like TDiddy's pictures.

I know we've sorta covered this with regards to Sea Otter and other events, but riddle me this... Do the DH guys ride DS at Crankworks because it's not a WC event (less pressure, DH isn't as big a deal) or is it because it's DS and not 4X?

because its DS, and you don't have to worry about missing the season because of injury because of some knucklehead taking you out.

The later vs the former. Crankworx used to have 4X but switched it two years ago to slalom. The WC pros then started racing it. Crankworx 4X is when Sabrina stopped racing 4X after getting pretty jacked up in a crash.
