I'm sure I've put up video before, but I can't help myself. These are just soooo much fun. . . .

It took a beating last winter so we had to rebuild it. I tried some different things this time so I hope it survives the winter better.

Portland cement, lime and silt/sand from the bowls and drainage I have. Super smooth and super fast. Only problem is that I haven't found a system to control cracks caused by frosting in the winter.

cover it with straw bales in the winter, you could have mixed shredded fiberglass in with the cement too. i want to see video of that thing

Its more the earth under the cement that freezes and heaves. In a normal situation you would use 6" of crushed stone under a slab that acts as a buffer and allows the earth to move independant of the slab and rebar the slab enough with expansion joints to allow it to move without cracking apart. Obviosly thats not practical for a 180 berm. But really it takes 1 hard day and $100 in materials to do it so its not too bad to rebuild it once a season.

Thanks. See if I was a part of your trails we would build a HUGE one at the end of your line so you could rip a line back up the hill :D

Honest guess is 26/27 mph. I ripped the line on my am bike and my max speed on the bike confuser was 26mph. I think the line is a little faster now and I go faster on my ht than a 6" travel bike. Its basically a downhill line to the berm and then uphill for a while to get to the other section of jumps I have. You really have to hit it no brakes to have good speed to make it to the other side. Really fun stuff.

If you have to redo it again try breaking it up into 2 or 3 pieces. Smaller chunks will be stronger and able to move with the ground.

That's pretty fresh. I've thought about cementing some lips around here, but it seems like a lot work. And then there's a problem when u want to change things.
