strait up, I call BS. Double tracks, big fat nevegals, old V10 frame, no way sub 40
Dude...he has a scale shot. Even if that shot is rigged, there's no point arguing about it unless you can get his exact build on a spreadsheet with all the correct weights and be see if you're within 5% of his posted weight.

really. You want to argue over the weight of my bike? I don't. You need to get out and ride some more instead of memorizing the weight of components:D

oh and right at 40 does not mean sub 40. I can explain that better to you if you don't understand it

Do believe I saw you at Northstar last weekend for the Gypsy race, but I could have sworn that you had a 40 and not a Boxxer.

just build these up a few days ago. covert is 37, bottlerocket is 39. covert still needs dirty 30s, a 36, and an air shock, elixirs, and a new saddle. Bottlerocket is getting slx's, elixirs, and maybe a lyrik. Pretty stoked on them though. Took the bottlerocket out and even though it's not my first, i love it

How does the Driver 8 ride? I've been wondering that for a while.
After riding it for about 15 hours since I got it I can say it rides awesome IMO. My previous ride was an 08 Bullit with Coil Totems. This is a lot stiffer, in the rough it is super awesome and the differences are night and day. I'm 80kg but I just put the soft spring in the boxxers and it feels even better. The RC4 in the back is really nice too. The built in mudguard protects the shock well and the rear is nice and stiff. I put Minion DHfs on it and they're great for the type of trails we have here.

So dope. Love it
Me too :)

I like that driver 8 dude...looks sick
Thanks. I like the blue and white combo for sure. It's a real smurfy bike, haha

I'm from NZ, there probably is one similar up where you are.

How is the Driver 8 to ride? Slack enough to be used as an all-out-DH?

Seems sooo nice. :)
Personally I feel it could be used effectively as a Full DH rig. I'm running the Boxxers with as much axle to crown and possible but it pushes the front up a fair bit, more so when you sit on it. I'd suggest seeing if you can test one out and make that decision for yourself, based on your riding/riding style etc.
I received this frame to use as a park bike mainly. It's certainly a very capable frame and ride.

If it is the "Pinkmaggit" I am thinking of then possible but not likely, he is from over here in NZ but I may stand corrected ;)
That's me :)

Did you grind off the granny tabs on the XT cranks ,and mount the chainring on the outside, and use a normal XT crankset in 165mm?

So you'll have the lightest session 10 in existence, but it'll still be a session 10. Time for a frame upgrade, not wheel upgrade.

It all depends what your looking for... Different people like different frames. Maybe he likes that 10" of travel vs an 8" travel bike, like a sunday, etc... I like my demo 9 compared to the new demo 8's a whole lot more in looks and that way it rides.

Just because his frame is old (and a pig like mine) does not mean he should upgrade is my point. If it isn't broken and you're happy with it, don't fix it.

@frango: very light it's gonna be way under 17kg
@Christiaan: Yes i grind of the granny tabs and put the chainring outside since the M771 uses a longer axle so it would fit a frame with a 83mm bb,no spacers on the saint bb cups.I also needed to make adjustments on the e13 SRS guide to make it fit. It's a very light setup with these XT cranks they are 300g lighter than the new saint cranks with the same setup:D
