I've owned both the 06 rc2x and the 06 vf2. The VF2 actually rides halfway decent if you throw some good oil in and set up the sag right. It's bombproof as well. Not sure about the rcv though I'm assuming it has Rebound and compression adjustment which the vf2 has no adjustment other than air preload and oil weight changes. Good luck.

The '06 VF2's (66 and 888) have external rebound and compression adjustment at the bottom of the fork legs.

They are open bath ported orifice dampers, work reasonably well and are reliable. Keep them in fresh good quality oil and they feel pretty good :)

I had a VF2. It was a great fork and worked fine. The only thing that ever went out was the oils seals after 2 years and that's a very easy fix. Use thicker oil than stock as it will cure the top out problem they had with the stock oil. Mine when new, would top out like crazy, in any of the rebound settings, until I changed to 10wt oil.
