-1 for the Conti Diggas if you have to turn at all. They do not bite at all in the front.
+1 for Intense. I'm currently running an Edge rear and 909 front in...get this...2.35". Coming off of Schwalbe Muddy Marys in a 2.5" they look tiny but man do they bite. They feel much more lively in that they feel as if they can change direction faster. They also track better than any larger tire that I've used in the past two years especially in the mud.
If it's going to be really greasy the Intruder would be your choice. Intruder front and 909 rear would make a nice combo in the loose/wet as well.
Der Kaiser. I have been running the same set for the past 2.5 months in varying conditions with great results. The best thing about them is they wear much better than any Maxxis tire (except a 60a) yet provide better traction and similar rolling resistance. I have run them in mud dry dusty rocky rooty, you name it and they have been great. My one complaint would be that they seem to run a bit wider than the 2.5 size would imply. They are also a bit more difficult to source ( in the U>S anyway) than a Maxxis tire but IMO are nearly as good and less costly.

I am not running them tubeless however the sidewall seems to be a bit thicker than on a Minion 2 ply for example (Kaiser is a 3 ply) one of the guys on my team just ordered a pair and is planning on running them tubeless on Stans ZTR Flow wheels with Stans sealant this weekend. I will let you know how it goes.
So far it seems to be working great in the conditions I've been putting it through. I was skeptical because on an 823, the tires profile opens up a bit and there's a big dead space between the side lugs and center lugs. Usually this is fine as any Minion or Highroller owner will agree, but the Kaiser is even more open.
Saying that though, all my time on it has been good. I only have one for the front, so it seems difficult to judge how it rolls, but it seems on par with any sticky compound tire. There is a drift to the tire, but very similar to a DHF. I'll be taking a road trip to Willamette Pass in Oregon tomorrow. The hill is very loose and duffy with some rocks, so it will be a REALLY good dry test.
One note on tubeless, I'm running it on an 823 with a generous amount of Stans. The tire loses pressure faster than other tires I've ran. If I wait a couple days, I'll lose 15 psi. This isn't a big deal if you keep tabs on your pressure, but I can let other tires sit for weeks without losing air. Interesting...
After the short time I've had on this demo tire, I'm wanting a set of 2.4 UST Rubber Queens for my Slopestyle...
that's odd, I've weighed likely 6-8 2.5 Minion DHF UST and a couple of HR UST tires and they're all between 1120 & 1170g. Wetscreams are light too, 1120g.
