I'm not even going to talk about how this deserves it's own thread.

I've been looking up to and watching Steve Peat throughout his entire career; as I'm sure most of you all have. Watching him win the big one was totally amazing. Can't describe it. Dude just plain deserved to win and earned it.

Discuss.

i think if he won both over all's he might just take that and get a nice cozy R&D job somewhere going out on top, or keep ripping knowing he got all the titles and might as well stack a few more world cup wins onto that record to keep people thirsty

Peaty slayed it, what a run! Even though I am friends with Greg I couldn't help pulling for Peat. Way to go old man!

I'm curious to see if he retires or not. After all he is still damn competitive.
-edit- this was the best worlds in recent memory, the two most deserving riders took the crown in both respective disciplines, Graves in 4x, and now Peaty in DH, the monkey is officially off the back.

i don't think he'll retire.
he'll show off with THAT shirt on, even when he enters his local pub in sheffield!

I think he'd want to at least boast the stripes for a full year while he has 'em.

What an amazing race - Minnaar nearly pulled the spoiler. Wow!

Retire??? Don't see that happening with Mt. Ste. Anne hosting worlds next year and the opportunity to show off the jersey. He's got to take a "victory lap" next season even if he doesn't feel the fire. Besides, he needs to start slowing down before he can consider retirement. He's still getting faster for the love of God!

Can't even begin to describe how stoked I am for the big man. regardless of any other emotional/business ties to any other riders... Peat has always been my first pick for the world champs. I just got home from the bars, but I'm grabbing another round from the fridge just for him.

F**K YEA PEAT! - Been a long time coming and nobody more deserving....

I saw an e-mail posted on a forum here in the UK from i believe Si Paton to peat asking about retirement, his reply was NO WAY in so many words, doesnt look like there are any plans to opt out yet.....

Just made my sunday morning!

YEAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sooooo stoked! I prolly looked a bit stupid - running all over my house in my boxer shorts, screaming and jumping - when he won. But even that doesn't describe how happy I am.
He totally deserved this title. Peat The King!!

HOLY SH*T!!!!!! Peaty is the man. Well he was long before this but now he really is! What a year he is having. The only thing left to do is take the overall.

I don't see him retiring either. He loves to race too much. What ever he decides to do, he will always be a mentor, a legend and a hero. GO PEATY!

He not only won the title he wanted so badly, I think he also gave Royal Racing and Santa Cruz a big step up. Just like when Sam won for IH/TLD, we'll be seeing a bunch of V10s and RR clothing next season :D

My respect to Peaty!

Because we don't see V10s everywhere already. The spec. demo and sc V10 are the most common from what i have seen.

Visint the mountains instead of running around the flat like that. Much less stress for the family and much more fun for you ;)

BTW. Have you build up any bike yet?

Yeah, I was also very stoked for Peaty. If someone asks what's the best dh training in the off season - making babies should be the answer. Go try it and be like the champ ;)

What a bunch of babies! Everybody cryin' there eyes out.

Incredible racing. The ladies made for good watching too. It's good to see them throwing down.

Thanks to Sven and the rest of the Vital MTB crew for that interview. Awesome to hear the emotion in Peat's voice. So stoked for him, he's been an inspiration for me as a rider since I started following DH.

What I meant was that many more will find inspiration from riding the V10 like Peaty, as well as many of us jumped on a Sunday after Hills winning years with IH. If the bike makes the rider och vice versa, that's another story though...

to be fair, Peat cries every year at the world champs.. finally he's had his chance to remove the shades and proudly show tears of happiness :thumb:

Actually, I'm living alone ;-)
I do have a bike, next month I'm (hopefully) gonna visit the mountains.

I've just sent you a PM.
