as long as the brake rotor doesn't rub on the caliper you should be fine. Just make sure you crank er down.

-edit- I ran a 10mm rear on my Socom for months while waiting for the right axle, the only thing I ran into was the rear end coming loose occasionally. The combination of a flexy rear end + not right axle caused it too loosen from time to time. Whenever I rode it at Silver mtn. The rear would come loose (after 15+ minutes of high speed pinning).

that's why we drink it here
Make sure the nuts are large enough to engage the dropout well. You might need to run some washers to increase the surface area. If you're really paranoid you can cut a thin strip of beer can and wind it around the axle until it's got a 12mm OD.

What id be doing is taking the one i haven't lost down to my local small machine shop an ask them to make you 1...just tell them what it is an what its for...if you ask nicely they most likely will do it that day for you. A small part like that will only take 10min for someone to turn up on a lathe.

Buy the 12mm adapter from Saddletime Sports on ebay and have them rush it. Nick, a former Intense staffer, runs saddletime, and I ordered replacement 10mm washers when I lost one down a sidewalk grate last year. Ships fast. $20 or so.

While waiting for the washer, I did run a 10mm axle without any washer. The non-drive-side bolt head of the Saint 10mm axle matched the washer diameter perfectly so there was no play.
