It's looking like Sunday, October 18th is the day for the annual Fall Down Shuttle Day at Dry Hill, Port Angeles. Come ride all the trails you couldn't ride during the races. $30 includes lunch and all day riding (9-5).
More information to follow.

I was gonna go to the black rock shuttle but they have a 150 rider limit. now I'm gonna try to make it out to PA instead.

from the black rock blog

"Slots still available – get your registration mailed to reserve your space! Registrations are flying in… expect we’ll probably fill up between end of September."

Every other weekend was booked through Halloween, so we didn't have too many options.

Besides, I think we're far enough apart. There shouldn't be too many people torn? We need to get it in before we "shut down" for the winter.

How about we move to sunday so you can hit black rock sat and dry hill sunday??? Lots f driving but a sweet season ending session. Don't know for sure if we could move but possible. When we planned this we had no idea about the black rock gig.

In general, are sundays better than saturdays?

Awesome work on the scheduling in my opinion. Doesn't conflict with SilverRoxx or the Moscow race. This is the most fun way of experiencing the PA trails, if anyone is thinking of going, GO!

You might want to edit your first post so there's no confusion. Sunday sounds awesome...just hope the ferry lines won't be too bad coming back.

Never ridden Dry Hill, are the trails marked for the different skill levels? I don't think my 6" bike or me would handle the elite course.

Lots of different trails for different skill levels. Your bike should be fine - I ride a 6" travel bike with single crown fork.

If anything you might want to take your time down the pro course for the first time, but even that has ride arounds for everything. A six in bike is actually great on the hill. The only advantage to a full dh bike is you can carry more speed, but there isn't anything too huge here.

Trails are marked. There is even a map at the bottom. Lots of people know their way around so just ask. I have more days up there on my 4x and 6" bike than my DH bike. It's super fun and everything on the pro course is doable on a 6" bike, just a little slower.
Go, have fun.

Stoked about the switch to Sunday, I work Saturdays also. Never been out to the hill, how long does it take to get there from Seattle? Also, I have a roof rack on my Subaru...how does that work with the ferries?

1.5-2hrs door to door

Ferry rate is double if over 7'9". Stash your bike in your car if you can.

Damn, thats annoying....maybe I'll stash one bike in the car and have my buddy just ride onto the ferry. It'll be an early morning but sounds like it should be worth it.

No cap on entries. We ask for an RSVP so we don't end up with 100 hamburgers and an extra shuttle truck sitting around.

or take a trunk rack if you have one, throw the bike on before you get on the ferry and put it back on top when you get off, voila no over height charge. they can be had on the cheap at box stores.

looks like we will be showing up with 10ish riders.

Genius, I actually have an old trunk rack sitting around. Don't know why I didn't think of this. Count in two over here.
