I once had a Turner Rail and even for all of its many short falls its probably the most fun bike I ever had and would always be the one a picked when just going for a mess about ride with friends. What would be a modern equivalent to one of these?

Thanks

I 2nd the Transition Double suggestion. I sold my Turner rail about 2 years ago and recently built up a Transition Double as an equivalent muck around bike. Love it...

I sold my Rail last year and replaced it with an Intense SS. Very happy. I wanted something that could double as a trail bike and the SS does that and decends, corners and jumps as well as the Rail.

Thanks for all the replies. I think perhaps some of these bikes are a bit big and heavy with possibly to much travel. The Transition double looks really nice. So far the Intense Tazer is looking the most appealing. Has any one tried the Foes 4X, any good?

I have a double and an SS. I think the SS is overkill for dirt jumps but is a great bike park bike. The double is just a really fun bike and is the most used in my stable. Plus it has an uninterupted seat tube, big plus for when you want to ride some flowy xc trails. I've owned a bottle rocket too, it was pretty heavy.

The Rail was in a class by itself.

Saying that though, the Corsair Konig looks super cool. If I had a choice currently, I'd get a Killswitch when they come out. Looks sweet!

I have to say, I wish I never got rid of my Intense Tazer VP. One of the most fun flickable bikes I have ever had the pleasure of riding. Not the lightest or the plushest thing out but damn did it corner like no other, I even used it as an occasional trail bike. It wasn't the best for that but it worked out and when things got twisty and pointed downhill it was a fun factory. The only minor issues I had with it were it was a bit short and slightly portly. Geo was spot on.
