So I have recently started collecting parts for a new bike I don't have cranks frame or fork, I am considering doing a bike like the Intense Slopestyle but I want to know how a 73mm crank and a 150 rear wheel work/don't work.

Anybody have some info?

My question is to you, why would you start to collect parts before you have a frame? Usually you want to start with the most essential parts first. Frame, Wheels, Fork, Cranks, and so on...

My last bike build I had a spring sitting on the shelf for two months, then I had a spring and a shock for another two before I ordered a drive train, had the wheels on the existing bike...... think it was almost six months of collecting parts when i finally ordered the frame....

Sometimes it just happens that way

Difference is, you seem to know what you're doing when it comes to building a bike from scratch. Those that don't, shouldN'T start from the smallest parts first. Just IMO.

I have a spare Brakes, chainguide, pedals, cassette and other small items from upgrading/swapping parts my other bikes. I won a pair of FR2350 wheels that have a 150mm rear which is why I am trying to decide if I should do the 73 with a 150 or change plans and get a full on DH bike.

Now I don't really have a use for a full on 8" DH frame and also not wanting to spend the money on a big fork. Half the price I could have a slopestyle with a Van RC2 and would be more of a bike that fits stuff I would ride around here.

Some of my projects have started around a single bike part, I don't feel starting with a goal is always the most fun route.

My demo 9 has a 73mm bottom bracket with 150 mm rear end. Race face diablus cranks, race face bb cup shell.

im running a 73mm bb shell with a 150 rear end with no problems at all. the chain line is right where it needs to be.

And just like in every other chainline thread, it may be working, but the chainline is NOT correct on those bikes. UNless you are not using the external BB sets, and are using an older style BB with a longer spindle.

Chainlines are the downfall to two peice cranks, if your chainline is off, youll find yourselves wearing chains too fast, shifting harsh, and quite possible wearing cassettes as well.
