Cat2 course was challenging, just like it should be this late in the season

props to SoulSkier for sending the road gap the biggest all weekend.
the guy overshot the landing by a good 20', got bucked over the bars and missed every tree that was standing.

20ft sounds like a lot but its true. I was saved by the hand of God on that one. Got a tiny scrape on my left forearm and a sore shoulder this morning. I was only wearing knee pads, helmet, and a Leatt.
IH8RICE send out a pic of the wooden booter from the same run.

Props to Xprezo Cycles for taking time to help me dial in the Furax. super nice guys and great bikes.

sorry no pics :(......just good ol 1080p video :)

and from where the "lip" on the landing is to where your rear wheel landed was damn near 20'.
from where you landed, you should have been turning into that bank. you were still heading straight.

Oh man, I saw you go off that from the lift...sounded like you hit your brakes on the bridge itself, landed halfway down the landing, shot straight over the berm and into a tree...congratulations on not dying, I saw you rolling around on the ground for a minute after.

Good turnout:

Better BBQ:
but uhhhhhhhhhh don't eat the chili

Rusty:

Dig this shot:

Really like this shot, except for the goofy looks on everybody's faces.

Awards:

Delta/PBR:

VonCooper train...this is a double/triple after the road gap. The first guy clears it smooth, the second guy overshoots it slightly and nose wheelies into a front flipped...and walked away. Amazing. I stopped shooting immediately before it happened, but it'll probably be in the coop video. CLICK FOR ACTION

Obligatory parting shot:

what's up Sandwich, we met up top of the mountain. I'm in one of those pics with my bike, waiting at the top. It was an awesome weekend, couldnt have asked for a better first race.

Crashed twice on my race run and didn't come in last :)

That's cool dude, how did you place? I came in 8/15....not too pleased. Realized how out of shape I am, but I had a clean run which is good. I probably would have done better on the pro course (less pedaling).

VDH- you have any shots of number 233?

I ended up 5th of 8 :( and a-freakin'-men on the fitness thing... boy i was whipped.

I feel a conservative estimate of off-bike time was about 10 sec. between the two crashes, my time was 4.03.56 i think so I'd have been in the low 3.50's which would have put me in 2nd by a large margin, only behind the smokin' fast 3.40something that the 1st place guy ran.

I ran a pretty conservative race (hit some of the go-arounds) because I was so out of it from two days of practice... one crash was a rear washout over a slippery root right by the split of beg/sport and the other i was off my line and blew the berm, fell off the side of the course and had to climb back up  I went right back up and did another race-pace run just to prove I could string it all together without crashing, and I did:thumb:

not bad for my first race ever! i'm stoked to race the whole Platte series next season. :thumb:

cat3 times were:

3.40 (flannel shirt guy)
3.59 (blue and white jersey)
4.01 (John with a broken thumb)
4.02 (Jake? on the yellow bike)
4.03 (me 2 crashes)
4.11 ?
4.24 ?
?.?? ?

The sound of everyone one skimming along in the video is fantastic! I cannot wait until I am giving the green light to ride again!
