I got a couple runs in out there yesterday and I was grinning from top to bottom. Super fun course, come on out everyone!
why does it always rain on race weekends?
I'm showing 20% chance for Friday and Saturday.
The good thing is the MT is so steep the water doesn't sit on the trail. No Mud!!!!!! The course is best to run a day after a rain storm anyway, if not its super loose when dry. It's not going to rain this weekend anyway.

As of right now we only have 38 spots left open for the race. If you want to make sure your in for Saturdays race and not entered yet, be at the Pre Race Party at 6pm to get in line for your spot. Once we reach the 100 racer cap we have to close Registration.

ya weather just looked bad towards the end of the week. but i guess its all good now. super stoked.
Ha, if is was any other course, I would be worried about the weather, but water just runs down this joker. Even last year doing trail rides in mid winter when all the other trails at Paris were wet, the dh course stayed hard.
I rode it on Tuesday after it rained ALL day on Monday, and the only place it was even soft were in the end of a couple of new berms. It should be good on Saturday.
So this raffle is at 9pm and I was just planning on driving down for the afternoon to do runs and then swing by this raffle thing. But sticking it out til 9pm then driving an hour home and being back in the AM to race is sounding almost impossible, especially driving solo.
Do you get a raffle ticket automaticly as pre-registered or only for being there? I'll be in the shower by 9.

You get a raffle for entering. All racers do. "You do have to be there to win and pick up your prize." Can anybody help a brother out? I've been trying to build up my new bike, but messed up the upper cup of my headset trying to install it without a press. Does anybody have a headset I can buy, or better yet even just an upper cup? 1 1/8th
I should probably be there sometime mid to late afternoon tomorrow I'm hoping.
I bent the rim of the cup inwards so the bearings don't fit in.

Was thinking of heading down Friday around 12ish from Asheville and was wondering if anyone was heading that way and wanted to team up on some shuttle runs? I have an F-150 and can haul 6-7 bikes, but didn't want to go down and not have anyone to shuttle with. Also, anyone in Asheville looking to go down Friday and need a ride?

three of us will be there about 1pm
There will be a Truck running up and down the Mt around 1ish to around 3:30ish on Friday. The big shuttle truck is dead. The Trans went on it this week and will not be fixed by this weekend. As for Saturdays shuttles we have things taken care of and will still be better than last years setup.
You are welcome to shuttle with other people Friday but remember Hikers have the right away!!!! Be careful!!!! We have worked very hard to get what we have there and it one takes one to take it away. Race speeds can done on Saturday as the Trail will be closed to hikers then....

What is the info about the party tonight? What do I need to bring so I don't have to pay the cover charge? Or is the charge just if I want to drink? Do you have a list or do I need to print something out about my registration?
