my tree splined sprocket is stuck on the Ti spindle!

the bb is euro with threaded cups, i was able to pull off the drive side crank arm but the spindle is stuck...
how can i remove it?
do i just put in the profile tool and blast it with a hammer??

i think my ti spindle is a lil bent and i want to replace it with a steel one but cant remove the dame tree!! anyone else had this issue?

The sprocket will naturally be a tight fit. Is your spindle not even coming out of your frame? Do you have the non-drive side crank arm off?

You could also email Tree. I had a few questions for them when I first got my splined sprocket. My emails were thoroughly answered (along with some pictures to show what they were describing) in a matter of hours. Can't beat that kind of service!

edit: sorry, didn't quite visualize it properly when I first read it. So ignore my first paragraph. Try a rubber mallet / hammer + 2x4. Wail away.

FWIW when I installed it on my spindle I used a large size deep socket + hammer.

As long as you make sure you hit the end of the spindle straight on and don't completely hamfist it, your bb cups *should* be ok. Hammer w/ a low amount of force at first, then gradually increase it (if it doesn't work) so you're using the minimum amt of force necessary.

2 questions:

1 - Did you use the Ti prep?
2 - Is the spindle a non-Profile, like a FSA or something?

I tried my Tree on a non-Profile Ti spindle and it got stuck as well. For some reason the Tree spline is perfectly matched to the Profile Ti but other knock-offs it doesn't fit. Yes even though they are "technically" the same they really aren't.

Just make sure you don't start to pop out the splined insert from the chainring.

i believe its FSA ti spindle :(
i dont remember if i used Ti prep..... perhaps that means... no? damn.

i already tried blassting it with a rubber mallet, as hard as i flippin could.
i guess its hammer time?

if the insert falls out, is the whole thing funked?

Dirtbag, I had the same issue with an Oddyssee spindle (steel). The response I received from Tree is that the process Oddyssee used to knurl (I think that was the term) the splines lacked the level of precision used by Profile.

do not hit the spindle direct with anything besides a rubber mallet. a regular hammer will for sure mangle the spindle up. unless you have the crank tool installed, than hammer away!

if its seized, try and spray some wd40 on the splines and let it penetrate for a minute and keep wacking.

in the past i had the fsa ti spindle on my tree spline drive with no issues. i did use grease though. if the crank came off ok you must have had grease or ti prep somewhere on the spindle...

Very interesting. So, I have a Tree Lite spline drive and I am about to attempt to put it on the Ti spindle for my Demolition Medial LT 2.0. Now, I have anti-seize and I plan on using it. Should I still be worried about it seizing? Thanks.

If you use something to prep the spindle and it fits on there well you're fine.
If you have to press it on you'll have to hammer it off.
