Had 10 folks out on a wet day yesterday working on getting the trails in tip-top shape for the festival. We did some bridge repair, a new section of trail, benched the upper Windmill reroute, added a new jump, and just general weedeating and rock work.

We will have another work day this coming Sunday and then leaf blower patrol on Fiday before the festival.

That is $1100 DOLLARS OF PRODUCT!

Also got word that Duro Tires, Specialized Tires, E13, Sicklines, and Morewood are also tossing in awesome prizes as well.

Weather looks to blow in a some rain Friday night, then be out Saturday morning. I think this will be okay since Windrock is on the western edge of our forecast zone. Meaning it will get the rain first on Friday and clear out first Saturday morning. But the mountain is bone dry right now and will be all week, so a little rain will actually help. :)

^^^^ nice on the prizes. Even better your doing it on Saturday since people seem to head out early on Sunday.

Any plans for a Saturday night gathering?

Also, I can be into lake city early on Friday. What time we riding? Who's in? Can you hook me up with a GPS coordinate on the meeting place? The church?

I planning on heading up solo from S. Fla. Is there anyway I could catch some shuddles to get my feet wet. I was there over the summer and blew my shock before the first run. I did get one run on a borrowed bike.

ehhhh.....yuck Don.

Why didn't you just ride your bike instead?

:D
I blew my shock in Snowshoe and didn't ride the Demo until I pull it off the car in WR. I had left the SX at my parents. I shuttle for Dave and friends and took a run a small Demo8 just for the heck of it. Trust me I would have used that 4" Sx.

I won two of the peizes I donated a couple of years ago so I threw them back in. I am hoping for luck this year. Either way, the raffle ticket money is going to keep the trails good.

I'll be heading down to WR this weekend with my brother.
Just wanted to get the skinny on how the shuttles will work. Are there still going to be shuttles available for a fee/donation? If so, who do I need to talk to when I get there to get in on that? I'll be arriving early Saturday morning and staying through Sunday afternoon.

Thanks,
Adam

No worries Adam, just show up and it will be easy to figure out. Someone
will be taking up cash for shuttles. Just make sure to sign in at the little
building when you enter the park. That'll get you the important creds and
then just head up to the second parking area and the shuttle situation will
be obvious. These guys have it together and don't make anything complicated.
Doug will prob. be running things or know who to point you to with any questions.
Can't wait to "Ride" again and have a fun weekend at the Best trails around!

I am trying to get our own permit sign in. With the atv jamboree going on as well, the line to get permits could be long. So come to the DH parking lot first. If you don't know where the DH parking lot is, ask at the snack shack. But start to head up the mtn and before you cross the bridge you'll see us on the right.

sounds great guys.
I've ridden at WR a couple of times but conditions were never great. First time I was there on my AM bike with a pretty light weight fork and it just wasn't up to the task.
By the time I came back I'd acquired my current ride (SX trail) but got a flat on my second run and several days of horrible rain meant lots of crazy mud.
This time I'm coming prepared. Just picked up some some new DH spec tires and tubes, been tuning on suspension for the past couple of days, and I finally have some good knee/shin, and elbow pads. Also bringing the old 6" AM bike as a backup just in case.

Super psyched!
See you guys on Saturday!

Another FYI for Windrock first timers:
Please do not do massive drifts into donuts on a KX50 right in front of the Windrock Security Guard.;)

That security guard was on our case the minute we rolled into the parking lot for the night shift last year. First it was for letting a few rocks move while turning around in the gravel parking lot in the jeep, then getting mad at Mike for pulling a manual down the hill. He told us to stop doing wheelie's cause both wheels need to be on the ground at all times.

As I told Doug a couple weeks ago I've got a trailer set up to shuttle 15 to 20 bikes. If folks want to throw me 4 bucks a piece I'll bring it. I'm coming up from middle Ga so I dont want to haul it if is not needed. So I need people to give some input. Josh

Is this the guy that won half of the prizes last year? If so, he better buck up and then throw his tickets away. :D
I guess your thinking of me. A beer cooler on wheels and the I9's were nice.

However, w/ all the support the last two years, a ton of people walked away with something.

Josh, I am definitely counting on you to bring the trailer. That with the Isuzu and we should be able to haul 50 folks easy.

Should I ask or just show up Sat. I"m in the Atlanta area now and I was gonna head up tomorrow? Do you think there is a possibility to ride tomorrow afternoon?
