I use an Atomlab Pimp 135 X10 "bolt on" back wheel on my trail bike - similar to fun nuts but work in regular dropout, unlike the issues you had with that King hub. Not as nice as a King, but it would work on your frame.

i had a problem finding one when i got my I9s awhile ago
my LBS was nice enough to get specialized to ship over a rear hub with an axle and sold me the axle and they kept the hub to sell

dont know how i missed that...was that linked from their site?

Currently OOS at the cheapest place that sells them, but I prefer the Hadley axle (simple, light, and effective with no QR lever to damage in a crash/grind) mentioned above over the RWS or rear Maxle -

hmm, wish i woulda seen this earlier. i guess ill order this when its in stock and sell the RWS later on

Call mr and mrs Hadley. They will sell and ship direct to you. Give a 'what part' thread more than 1/2 an hour, and you will tend to get more and possibly better suggestions.. :D

The RWS is much lighter than either of those alternatives...

I thought you'd care since you're running King's hahah

weight isnt that much of a concern...i would have went with another Hadley hub, but the CK deal is too cheap to pass up

I'll remember this when you finally get fed up with your CK and go back to Hadley. :D

Actually tho, I don't blame you. Sh*ts expensive. Me, I would never buy a CK after having personally witness someone torque through the ring drive*.

*edit: it was a big guy (around 220lbs) riding a CK hub on his trials bike, so very high torque app. I wouldn't be worried about it for xc or dh

and ive seen people destroy their Hadley's before too. the King's quality is far better than the Hadleys...as is their EP price....two hubs for $265??? dear diary, jackpot.

They can both get trashed, but from what I've seen/heard, Hadley gets the win for ease of maintenance and service.

Also, can you just call up CK and order spare parts, or do you have to go through one of their distros/dealers?

the Kings are easy to work on, but even easier with their "special" tools.
and yes, you can call up CK to get anything you need. i had to order a new axle since i bought the Fun Bolt option thinking it would work with a thru axle...it doesnt. the guy was a flake when i asked him about why they didnt have a 83mm BB ( i wanted to buy the 83mm sleeve for my 68/73 CK bb, but they dont make it that size bb.) i ordered the new axle direct and it came in 2 days.
ive always had Hadley hubs for the past 9 years, so im anxious to see how long the newer CK hubs last.

Steve, you know I just like to pick on you, right? I'm curious to see how they hold up too.

I'm more curious to see Profile's new 204pt hub :brows:

The Hadley 135x10mm axle is 56g, 7g lighter than the RWS in the same size - not that it matters:rolleyes:
