Yo homies. My new bike is finally rollin, and i couldn't be more stoked. Thank god for custom 26" DJ frames. There are a few custom frame companies out there that i got mad respect for. Tonic, and SuperCo to name a couple. Those fools make some epic bikes. Top of the line.
Deity just stepped up the game, and joined the top dogs.
This frame with the Fox 831 = Pure fire.

Current proto weight = 5.4 Lbs

Stats:

Head angle- 69.5 degree
Seat Tube angle- 71.5 degree
Seat Tube Height- 10.5"
Chainstay Length- 15.25"
BB Drop- 25mm

The bike features:
-integrated headset
-spanish BB system
-external triple butted seat tubes
-double butted tubing throughout
-compact dropouts
-full black ED treatment on the inside of the tubes to prevent rust
-and unlike 99% of the DJ frames on the market...the Cryptkeeper is 100% post weld heat treated.

Oh yeah, this is just the Proto. I have no idea when the real deal will be available.
Probably after me and the homies beat the fvcking piss out of it for a few months to make sure it's bullet proof.

Steel for real.

Deity did not want to make a "do it all" type of frame and instead, wanted to design a frame that is tailored specifically for true dirt jumpers. It has far more aggressive geo than the typical frames on the market and unlike some others whose geo is so rediculously aggressive (and is surprisingly marketed to dirt jumpers with sub 15" stays etc....which are better for street/park), this bike is actually stable, compact, and positions the center of gravity in the perfect spot to pump through sections.

That looks awsome Zach, Deity is really stepping up their game!

I'm pretty stoked that they're offering a specific riding style of frame.

ZOMG another steel DJ frame. The ONLY bike that is heat treated after welding! The only one with correct Geometry! It comes in Black too!

Looks like its going to be expensive as well so thats a lot of fun...

I thought all frames were 'post weld' heat treated.
It hasn't really been much of an issue in the past because the tubing used was way overkill. As tubing gets lighter and lighter, the heat treating becomes necessary. BMX companies have been doing this for a while now, and we're starting to see it in MTB frames now.

During the welding process, the two metal pieces being joined are subject to extreme temperatures and can cause the crystalline structure of the metal to pass through various metallurgical phases. As a result, hardening (and embrittlement) of the metal can occur to varying degrees (usually dependent on carbon content). Heat treatment is designed to reduce the hardness in the heat affected zone of the metals and also increase ductility in these sections.

The new 2009 NS frame, NS Majesty (my personal favorite)! The Majesty is the new premium level dirt jumping frame.
The Majesty features an integrated headset standard and a spanish BB. There is a totally new high-end tubeset with offset multi butting and a rarely seen full heat treatment process that takes place after the welding. This technology allowed the NS team to make one of the lightest and strongest dirt jumping frame on the market.
This is really the ultimate cromoly dirt jumping frame.

I know this is big gravedig but i stumbled upon this forum after reading up on this frame (which I like). I'm posting to point out something that I strongly believe is false which is the comment about sub 15" stays being not as good for a dirtjump bike. It sounds like there is some misleading/feeding of some marketing bs going on here. Please don't believe that sub 15" stays makes a bike less stable to a point where it is a lesser DJ rig. You are denying the reputation of almost every 20" and 24" rig in existence. With regard to stability vs flickability, the slack headangle and long wheelbase of any 26" frame make it more than stable enough for any dirtjumping task. A sub 15" chainstay on the cryptkeeper would not make the bike too "aggressive" for dirtjumping it would just make it lighter, stronger, stiffer, more flickable, and most importantly more fun to ride. But hey if you lack the fine motor skills to control a bike with a slightly shorter rear end, by all means buy the bike because it just a teenie weenie bit more stable than those "ridiculously aggressive" 26" dirtjump bikes.

That being said the bike looks great. Good work deity.
