Never really spent much on tequila myself. Most expensive I've gone was just for Cabo Wabo (yeah...sammy hagar fan so I had to)

Tequilla is one of my favorites.

Awhile back we aquired a tequilla named Firegod. Jallepeno Tequilla, at first it sounded like heartburn in a bottle at first, but it was smooth and tasty, Would love to get some more when the doc tells me I can drink again.

Merriman was arrested by sheriff's deputies on Sept. 6 after Tequila signed a citizen's arrest warrant accusing him of battery and false imprisonment at his suburban home. District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis declined to charge Merriman.

I have a new found love of less than cheap tequila. I don't spend more than about $50 a bottle, but the difference between $25 and $50 is amazing. I bet that stuff is awesome, too bad I'm a cheap f@cker.

Hell yes, I've gotten into good Tequila this year. My neighbor/landlord is a huge Tequila drinker, so much in fact he grows his own Agave in his and our yards and has a friend ferment it for him. His first batch won't be ready for another year.

I fixed his car the the other day and he gave me a bottle of 2000 Tequila Don Fernando Anejo (1 of 500 bottles in a special packaging). Was told it was around $175/bottle, but I just found it for cheaper at $125 (not the special packaging). Most delicious Tequila I have ever had.

Also the Cava Antigua Anejo is very good for around $75 a bottle. Also given to us by our neighbor.

Anything 100% Agave and I'm diving in head first.

I find it funny when you're trying to introduce people to good tequila that have had only experience with the cheap stuff and you see the look of astonishment on their face when it goes down so smooth. My dad was never a liquor drinker by any means, but I got him started on some Tres Generations and now every time I come over he's all "Let's have a few shooter, son"

My wife, however took it too far in college and now will hurl at even the smell of tequila--good stuff or not. :bad:

I am currently working my way through a Milagro Silver that I'm using mainly for from scratch margaritas. It is pretty good, but not as nice as the Patron and Cabo Wabo silvers I had before, but it is almost half the price. For a sipping tequila, I'm a big fan of a Don Eduardo Anejo.

bout the best I have had is patron silver & both colors of don julio. DJ is what I always end up bringing back from Mexico. I like that stuff & I am sure the better stuff is...well..better.

DJ silver is what I get more often than not. My friends are partial to Patron, so either works. I bought a bottle of 100 proof 1800 and it wasn't bad. It's about as cheap as I'll go any more. Also, the better the stuff, the lesser the headache the day after. Maybe that's just me, though.

$50 a bottle? that's not cheap ****er territory. when i think cheap tequila I think 9 dollars for a handle.

That was my point, I like the $50 stuff. I don't see myself spending more than that, but I stay away from the $10 a gallon stuff on the bottom shelf.

Yep, pretty much. That's the base starting point for sure. Then for me it depends on the use - for margaritas you don't need the finest anejo, although it's nice! I just got a bottle of El Tesoro Reposado last weekend, one of my all-time faves.
