Saw the recap on ESPN last night. That was BRUTAL came. Tripping, pushing, boob-punching, and hair pulling. I wish I'd watched that game.

I had a guy in high school try to hack my bad knee for an entire game.
I took him down the sidelines, booted the ball across the middle, then threw him into the stands and jumped in after him.

Last day I played soccer. Last day for him too. Little bastard.

I used to head hunt defensemen, if one came at me head on I would pound the ball directly in their face. Ref's caught on in one game I eventually got a yellow card.

I'd put $20 that she's a 'gay' from California and was taking out her feelings for the Mo's on the BYU soccer team.

Says nothing about sexuality. I think you need to pull your foot out of your mouth.

she apologizes, then says if it was a man doing that, then it wouldnt be blown outs proportion.

She added: “I think the way the video came out, it did make me look like a monster. That’s not the type of player I am. I’m not just out there trying to hurt players. That’s taking away from the beauty of the game. And I would never want to do that.”
really? cause it looked like you purposely hurt them

Funny how that clip only shows from the punch onward; it doesn't show the guy getting in the face of Blount deserving to get knocked the &#@* out.
You get in a guys face like that after beating them in a big game you get what's coming to you.

I do find it funny that they appear to be seperating him from his own teamates as they are leaving the field.

Dude has anger issues for sure...

He was just reinstated from an indefinite suspension.

The referees should have regained control of that game long before the hawt hair pulling happened.

I would have red-carded any intentional "girl on girl" violence, after it was done of course. The ref's need some glasses and some better training.

You are right about that. The Boise State dude was finger pointing and talking smack in the face.

But getting into each other faces and violence does not go hand in hand.

I remember a classic confrontation, probably the greatest game with the lowest score, 49ers vs Giants on Monday Night in 1990, score was 7-3.

Both teams were 10-0, and just before the hyped-up matchup, they each lost to their division rivals the week earlier.

Considering most low scoring games is a sign of offensive ineptitude, every play in this game was a battle, each yard contested.

Immediately after the game was over, Phil Simms and Ronnie Lott got into each other faces.

I remember being shocked. I was disappointed the Giants lost but it was a clean game. The reputations of both players were exemplary, and there was a racial element which I recognized but had nothing to do with why the confrontation occurred.

Jim Burt, an ex-teammate of Simms, had told Lott before the game that Simms had no respect for him as a player, which was not true.

Anyway, tempers were high but no punches were thrown. It would have spoiled the greatest game I have ever witnessed.

As for dirty play, yeah, it takes a tough player to play dirty. I used to play lots of basketball, and I was familiar with almost all the tricks. But I never started it. I was fully capable of winning on my own, and I was man enough to get beat cleanly.

However if someone felt the need to put an elbow into my back or knee me in the thigh, then I would immediately respond, usually with a move that neutralized the dirty trick. But if it got really choppy, like some tiny guard slapping at a rebound, I would be more than glad to swing an elbow right at eye level until the person either got the hint or got hit in the face.

Except for the pony tail pull, all of that is part of the game. I actually agree with her that this is being judged differently because she's a girl. Even the pony tail pull is no different than the countless instances of elbows to the face, grabbing and shoving someone by their head or face, etc. that were pretty regular on my teams and would have warranted a red card and maybe a one-game suspension, but never would have made national news (assuming I had played for a team that was getting national attention) or had anyone sent to a psychiatrist.

Get over it. Sports should be aggressive and physical.
